Abstract:
A hearing aid comprises a microphone for transforming an acoustic signal surrounding a hearing aid user into an electrical signal, a signal processing means for processing the electrical signal into an electrical output signal and to a receiver (2) driven by the electrical output signal and generating an acoustical signal into the ear canal (11) of a hearing aid user. The hearing aid comprises an ear plug part (1) prepared for being arranged in the ear canal of a hearing aid user. The hearing aid comprises sound generation means for generating an acoustic guiding signal to be provided for a limited period through said receiver during insertion of the ear plug part into the ear canal, in order to be applied by the hearing aid user to optimize the positioning of the ear plug part (1). The invention further provides a method for guiding a hearing aid user during insertion of an ear plug.
Abstract:
A hearing aid (1) comprising a receiver (2) and at least one first microphone for transforming an acoustic signal surrounding a hearing aid user into an electrical signal, where the hearing aid comprises an ear plug part prepared for fitting tightly into the car canal (11) of a hearing aid user such that an inner volume is formed in the inner part of the ear canal between the car plug part and the car drum of the hearing aid user. The car plug part comprises a second microphone (3) arranged for transforming an acoustic signal in the volume into an electrical signal. The hearing aid comprises estimating means for estimating the effective size of the air leak between the inner volume and the surroundings based on the acoustical signal detected in said volume by said second microphone (3) from a known acoustical signal below 1000 Hz generated by the receiver. The hearing aid further comprises notification means for notifying the hearing aid user if the size range of the air leak is outside a predefined range.
Abstract:
A personal wearable EEG monitor (1) is adapted to be carried at the head of a person. The EEG monitor comprises an EEG sensor part having skin surface electrodes (3) for measuring EEG signals from said person. The EEG monitor comprises an EEG signal analyzer (5, 5′) adapted for monitoring and analyzing the EEG signal. The EEG monitor (1) performs at least one of the following: providing a stimulus to the person, requesting the person to perform a stimuli creating act, or identifying a stimuli creating ambient sound. The EEG monitor comprises means for identifying an induced response from the EEG signal caused by the stimuli, and a classifier for deciding whether the skin surface electrodes receive EEG signals. The invention further provides a method of monitoring EEG signals of a person.
Abstract:
A hearing aid (62, 72, 82, 92, 102, 112) adapted for alleviating tinnitus of a user (75), comprises an audio input means (83), a signal processing unit (88, 98, 108, 118) and an output transducer (80). The hearing aid further comprises a band stop filter (87) arranged to match a tinnitus of the user and switching means (86, 116) and switch control means (84, 114) for controlling the switching of said band stop filter (87) into and out of the signal path between the audio input means (83) and the output transducer (80), in response to a predefined trigger event. The invention further provides a method of adjusting a hearing aid.
Abstract:
An auditory prosthesis (14, 14null) is adapted for compensation of hearing loss and for sound pressure determination. During calibration of the sound field to be used during fine-tuning of the auditory prosthesis, the auditory prosthesis is positioned at an observation point in the sound field, and the sound pressure at the auditory prosthesis is adjusted based on determinations of sound pressures performed with the auditory prosthesis. Thus, the need for dedicated calibrated sound pressure determining equipment is eliminated. The invention provides an auditory prosthesis, a method and a system for calibration of a sound field.

Abstract:
A hearing aid service system includes an Internet enabled personal communication device and one or more hearing aids provided with respective transceivers for establishing a wireless connection, whereby the personal communication device becomes a gateway for the hearing aids to a remote server. Each hearing aid includes a processor controlling the operation of the hearing aid, and a memory containing program code for at least one add-on program for the operation of the hearing aid. The server manages user accounts for a plurality of hearing aid users, including managing subscription status for the add-on program. The server creates a subscription status change event for the account upon change of the subscription status for the at least one add-on program and sends a status change instruction to the hearing aids for enabling or disabling one or more of the add-on programs by using the communication device as gateway.
