Abstract: A method and device are disclosed from the perspective of a first User Equipment (UE) to support Sidelink (SL) Discontinuous Reception (DRX). In one embodiment, the method includes the first UE establishing a unicast link with a second UE. The method further includes the first UE receiving a SL DRX configuration associated with the second UE from the second UE. The method also includes the first UE transmitting the SL DRX configuration to a network node. In addition, the method includes the first UE receiving a sidelink grant from the network node, wherein the sidelink grant indicates sidelink resources. Furthermore, the method includes the first UE performing a sidelink transmission to the second UE based on the sidelink resources.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed. In an example from the perspective of a User Equipment (UE), if sidelink packet duplication is configured or enabled for a Sidelink Radio Bearer (SLRB), a first Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) Protocol Data Unit (PDU), corresponding to a first PDCP Service Data Unit (SDU), and a duplicate of the first PDCP PDU, are transmitted. A first PDCP Sequence Number (SN) of the first PDCP PDU is set based upon one or more state variables used for sidelink transmission on the SLRB. If the sidelink packet duplication is de-configured or disabled for the SLRB, a second PDCP PDU, corresponding to a second PDCP SDU, is transmitted. Noduplicate of the second PDCP PDU is transmitted. A second PDCP SN of the second PDCP PDU is set based upon the one or more state variables used for sidelink transmission on the SLRB.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed. A first sidelink Signaling Radio Bearer (SRB) for PC5-S message transmission is established. The first sidelink SRB is associated with a default Destination Layer-2 Identity (ID). A first PC5-S message is transmitted on the first sidelink SRB with a Source Layer-2 ID derived from a Layer-2 ID of the first UE and a Destination Layer-2 ID derived from the default Destination Layer-2 ID. A second PC5-S message is received from a second UE. The second PC5-S message is transmitted with a Source Layer-2 ID derived from a Layer-2 ID of the second UE and a Destination Layer-2 ID derived from the Layer-2 ID of the first UE. A second sidelink SRB for PC5-S message reception and/or transmission is established. The second sidelink SRB is associated with the Layer-2 ID of the second UE.

Abstract: A method and device are disclosed for a relay User Equipment (UE). In one embodiment, the relay UE establishes a first layer-2 link with a first remote UE. The relay UE also establishes a Protocol Data Unit (PDU) session with a network, wherein the relay UE forwards traffic of the first remote UE on the PDU session. The relay UE further establishes a second layer-2 link with a second remote UE. In addition, the relay UE forwards traffic of the second remote UE on the PDU session. Furthermore, the relay UE receives a network control signaling from the network, wherein the network control signaling is associated with the first remote UE and is used for modifying the PDU session. The relay UE also initiates a layer-2 link modification procedure toward the first remote UE in response to reception of the network control signaling.

The method also includes the UE monitoring a sidelink control channel, associated with the group, based on the sidelink DRX configuration and the time to start of on-duration for each sidelink DRX cycle or start of each sidelink DRX cycle.

In one embodiment, the method includes the first UE transmitting a first Radio Resource Control (RRC) message to a network node, wherein the first RRC message includes a sidelink Quality of Service (QoS) information, and wherein a presence of an identity of a sidelink QoS flow in the sidelink QoS information is mandatory and a presence of a QoS profile of the sidelink QoS flow in the sidelink QoS information is optional. The method also includes the first UE receiving a second RRC message from the network node, wherein the second RRC message includes a dedicated sidelink configuration and the identity of the sidelink QoS flow associated with the dedicated sidelink configuration.

Abstract: A method and device are disclosed for adaptation layer configuration, wherein an adaptation layer is above a Uu Radio Link Control (RLC) layer and below a Uu Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) layer. In one embodiment, the method includes a network node transmitting a first Radio Resource Control (RRC) message including an adaptation layer configuration or an information for a Uu logical channel to a relay User Equipment (UE), wherein a field in the adaptation layer configuration indicates whether or not an adaptation layer header is present for the Uu logical channel and a value of the field cannot be changed after the Uu logical channel is established, and wherein the information indicates whether or not an adaptation layer is established for the Uu logical channel and the information cannot be changed after the Uu logical channel is established.
