Abstract: A power system includes a liquid hydrogen fuel source including a fuel tank containing a volume of hydrogen fuel. The fuel tank includes two or more vacuum insulation layers, and a liquid insulation material positioned between the two or more vacuum insulation layers. A first power generator located fluidly downstream of the hydrogen fuel source. The first power generator utilizes a flow of hydrogen fuel from the volume of hydrogen fuel to generate electrical or mechanical power.

Abstract: A system for cooling a motor operating within an aircraft system includes an enclosure receiving ram air from a first ram air duct and discharging ram air to a second ram air duct to form a cooling path. The second ram air duct is discrete and independent from the second ram air duct. Abstract: A generator cooling assembly is provided and includes a rotor, a generator assembly and an air-cycle machine (ACM). The generator assembly includes a generator housing, a generator housed in the generator housing and a shaft coupled to the rotor to transmit shaft power from the rotor to the generator to drive the generator. The ACM is housed in the generator housing and is receptive of air. The air is cooled by the ACM and output from the ACM to the generator as fully cooled air to cool the generator.

Abstract: A starter/generator arrangement includes a starter/generator, a power converter electrically connected to the starter/generator, and coolant circuit with a pump and a condenser in fluid communication with the power converter. The power converter is arranged to flow start mode electrical power in a first direction in a start mode and a second direction in a generate mode. The coolant circuit fluidly couples the pump to the condenser for storing heat in a coolant disposed within the coolant circuit while flowing the start mode electrical power in the first direction. Gas turbine engines and methods of cooling starter/generator arrangements are also described.

Abstract: A power feeder device can include a base having a mounting portion and a plurality of connector structures extending from the mounting portion and spaced apart relative to each other to form a respective gap therebetween. Each connector structure can be configured to receive a respective pair of terminals to electrically connect the respective pair of terminals within connector structures and to block a line of sight between an adjacent pair of terminals. The device can also include a cover configured to mate with the base to enclose each of the plurality of connector structures and to increase a length of a creepage path between each pair of terminals by at least partially inserting into each gap between the connector structures. The base and the cover can be configured to form a terminal opening on each lateral side when assembled to allow pass-through of a conductor and/or portion of each terminal.

Abstract: A thermal management includes an inductor, a housing in thermal communication with the inductor, the housing defining a wall, and a conductor. The conductor has a greater heat transfer rate than the wall and is positioned within a groove and/or an aperture formed in the wall. The conductor is configured to transfer heat through the wall more efficiently than if the conductor were not present. A method of manufacturing a thermal management system includes forming a housing by additive manufacturing. The housing defines a wall having at least one of a groove and an aperture defined therein. The method includes positioning a conductor in at least one of the groove and the aperture. The conductor has a greater heat transfer rate than the wall. The method includes positioning an inductor into thermal communication with the housing.
