摘要: It is an object of this invention to provide an electron generating apparatus which is hardly influenced by variations in driving voltage, an image forming apparatus using the electron generating apparatus, and a method of manufacturing and adjusting the same. The row wiring layers of a multi-electron-beam source (300) are sequentially selectively switched by a control circuit (302) and applied with a pulse voltage having a value about 1.05 to 1.5 times the maximum value of a normal driving voltage from a DC voltage source (301). The characteristics of all surface conduction electron-emitting devices of the multi-electron-beam source (300) are shifted to the high potential side. With this process, even when the driving voltage becomes high due to superposition of noise and the driving voltage, variations in electron-emitting characteristics caused by the voltage shift characteristics of the surface conduction electron-emitting devices can be prevented.

摘要: An electron beam generating device has at least one electron emitting element and at least one modulation electrode on a substrate. The modulation electrode may be provided on the same or reverse side of the substrate as or to the side bearing the electron emitting element. The electron emitting element is constituted of a lower potential electrode, a higher potential electrode and an electron emitting portion between the electrodes. The lower potential electrode has a different dimension than the higher potential electrode, or the substrate region bearing the electron emitting element has a different thickness than the other region, depending on the type of arrangement of the electron emitting element and the modulation electrode.

摘要: An image display apparatus comprises a plurality of electron-emitting devices and an image-forming member for forming an image upon irradiation of electron beams emitted from the electron-emitting devices. The apparatus further comprises a plurality of substrates having the electron-emitting devices arrayed thereon and being arranged side by side, and a deviating unit for deviating the electron beams emitted from the electron-emitting devices arrayed on the substrates. The deviating unit deviates the electron beams toward the boundary between the substrates. When the plurality of substrates are combined with each other to provide the image forming apparatus having a large-sized screen, a display incapable region is prevented from appearing at the boundary between the substrates.

摘要: An image display apparatus in which luminance contrast is produced by the act of scanning of electron beams is disclosed. The apparatus of this invention includes: a screen including a plurality of picture elements each having a plurality of miniature luminescent units which respectively exhibit luminescence in response to the application of a plurality of electron beams, the picture elements being arranged in lines and columns; electron-beam generating means for generating the plurality of electron beams which respectively define the plurality of miniature luminescent units in each of the picture elements; control means for controlling emission of the plurality of electron beams so that the number of the miniature luminescent units which exhibit luminance in each of the picture elements may be controlled in accordance with a video signal; and/or means for controlling emission the period of time available for the emission of at least one of the plurality of electron beams.

摘要: A method for recovery of lithium chloride wherein a dihalogen aromatic compound is reacted with an alkali metal sulfide and/or an alkali metal hydrosulfide in a polar solvent in the presence of lithium chloride and wherein after polyarylene sulfide particles and a matter insoluble in the solvent are separated from the resulting mixture, lithium chloride is recovered from a residual solution, characterized in that lithium chloride in the residual solution is separated on crystallization. In this manner, high purity lithium chloride may be recovered at a lower cost by a simple equipment, whilst high quality polyarylene sulfide may be obtained.
