Abstract: Techniques for synchronization across transmitting nodes of a same public land mobile network (PLMN) operator using a shared radio frequency spectrum band may include initiating, at a first wireless node, a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure for access to the shared radio frequency spectrum band, and identifying that a second wireless node associated with a same PLMN operator as the first wireless node has won contention for the shared radio frequency spectrum band. The first wireless node may discontinue the LBT procedure and initiate an auxiliary transmission using the shared radio frequency spectrum band concurrently with a primary transmission of the second wireless node.

Abstract: Improvements to asynchronous spatial listen before talk (LBT) procedures are disclosed. In a shared spectrum network spatial LBT procedures are used for directionally targeting the channel reservation process. Prior to transmitting channel reservation signaling, the transmitter and receiver determine an effective interference considering available multiple input, multiple output (MIMO) configuration information. When the effective interference exceeds a predefined threshold, the node may without transmission of its channel reservation signal. Otherwise, when the effective interference remains within the threshold, each node's transmitted channel reservation signal may also identify at least a beamforming matrix either as payload or used to precode the node's channel reservation signal.

For instance, an example method is presented that includes generating, by the network entity, an uplink bandwidth allocation map, the uplink bandwidth allocation map defining an uplink bandwidth allocation for at least one of the one or more user equipment for at least one of a plurality of uplink transmission window lengths. In addition, the example method includes transmitting the uplink bandwidth allocation map to at least one of the one or more user equipment.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless device, such as a user equipment (UE) may monitor for a decoding candidate of a codeword, wherein the codeword corresponds to a set of received bit metrics, and the decoding candidate corresponds to a plurality of information bits encoded using a polar code, determine a composite detection metric for the codeword for the decoding candidate, where the composite detection metric is derived from a subset of bit metrics for an intermediate polarization layer of the polar code, and determine a classification for performing a list decoding process on the codeword according to the decoding candidate based at least in part on the composite detection metric.

In some aspects, a device may select a plurality of channel access intervals during which the device is associated with a priority condition relative to another device for communications by the device, wherein each of the plurality of channel access intervals includes a respective contention interval and a respective transmission opportunity; and may transmit, during a contention interval of a first channel access interval of the plurality of channel access intervals, a signal that includes: channel occupancy information for the device for a first transmission opportunity of the first channel access interval, and information that identifies at least a portion of one or more subsequent channel access intervals, of the plurality of channel access intervals, associated with the device. One method includes identifying a priority of the wireless device for a transmission interval of a radio frequency spectrum band shared by a plurality of network operating entities; identifying an absence of a predetermined transmission type in each of a number of clear channel assessment (CCA) slots of the transmission interval, in which each of the number of CCA slots is associated with a higher priority than the identified priority of the wireless device; and communicating over the radio frequency spectrum band based at least in part on the identified absence of the predetermined transmission type in each of the number of CCA slots associated with the higher priority than the priority of the wireless device.

Abstract: A per-transmit time interval (TTI) rank control within a transmission opportunity (TxOP) is described for downlink coordinated multiple point (CoMP) operations. In operation, a base station may determine rank and data rate for communication during a transmission opportunity (TxOP) at the beginning of the TxOP. Each TxOP may include a plurality of transmission time intervals (TTIs). For each TTI of the TxOP, the base station computes one or more channel quality indicator (CQI) back-offs using one or more outer loop adaptation processes per TTI, and updates rank and the data rate using the CQI back-offs. Once updated, the base station transmits the downlink data during each TTI according to the updated rank and the data rate.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for hierarchical communications and low latency support within a wireless communications system. An eNB and/or a UE may be configured to operate within the wireless communications system which is at least partially defined through a first layer with first layer transmissions having a first subframe type and a second layer with second layer transmissions having a second subframe type. The first subframe type may have a first round trip time (RTT) between transmission and acknowledgment of receipt of the transmission, and the second layer may have a second RTT that is less than the first RTT. Subframes of the first subframe type may be multiplexed with subframes of the second subframe type, such as through time division multiplexing. In some examples symbols of different duration may be multiplexed such that they different symbol durations coexist.

The apparatus may be a UE that acquires information regarding an interfering non-serving cell and uses the information to improve decoding of serving cell signals. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In accordance with the described techniques, communicating devices (e.g., an encoder and decoder) may apply an orthogonal cover code to a polar codeword to reduce cross-correlation between different codewords. For example, such techniques may reduce power consumption at a decoding device by providing for earlier decoding termination (e.g., as a result of the reduced cross-correlation). Techniques for generating the cover codes (e.g., on a per-aggregation level basis) and applying the cover codes (e.g., within a search space) are described. Additionally or alternatively, the described techniques may relate to seeding of reference signals used to support decoding of the codewords. Improved orthogonality between reference signal seeds may further suppress codeword recipient ambiguity.
