    摘要: A method and apparatus for performing a L3handover between CNs in a packet-switched network are provided. When a UE moves from an old RAN to a new RAN, the UE sends a measurement report message including cell information to the old RAN. The old or new RAN determines whether to perform a L3 handover. If the L3 handover is required, a tunnel is established between the new RAN and a new CN. The UE performs a handover from the old RAN to the new RAN, without establishing a tunnel between the new RAN and an old CN. Upon detection of the movement of the UE, the new RAN sends a L2 handover complete message to the old RAN. After moving to the new RAN, the UE acquires a new IP address, performs the L3 handover, and communicates with the new CN through the new RAN.

    摘要: Disclosed is provided a method for switching an operation mode from a non-USTS to a USTS mode in a Node B capable of communicating with a UE in both the non-USTS mode and the USTS mode. The Node B calculates a difference value between a start point of a downlink dedicated channel frame in a downlink dedicated channel transmitted to the UE in the non-USTS mode and a start point of an uplink dedicated channel frame in an uplink dedicated channel received from the UE. The Node B determines a first control value for controlling the start point of the uplink dedicated channel frame in the uplink dedicated channel by comparing the difference value with a given reference value, and also determines a second control value such that the second control value for the start point of the downlink dedicated channel frame in the downlink dedicated channel becomes a multiple of a given number of chips. Further, the Node B informs the UE of the determined first and second control values, and then transmits a downlink dedicated channel signal such that the start point of the downlink dedicated channel frame becomes a start point determined based on the second control value.

    摘要: Disclosed is a mobile communication system for providing a number of User Equipment (UEs) positioned in a plurality of cells with Multimedia Broadcast/Multicast Service (MBMS) using CDMA technology. A Radio Network Controller (RNC) transmits a MBMS availability message to each of the plurality of cells under management regarding at least one MBMS which is available in a corresponding cell in order to support the mobility of the UE which receives the MBMS. The UE decides whether it can receive a desired MBMS in the current cell, after receiving the MBMS availability message, and requests the desired MBMS or reselects another cell. The continuity of MBMS reception is improved while UEs using the MBMS are moving and the overhead of RRC connection setup for unnecessary MBMS request is reduced.
