Abstract:
Herein are disclosed methods and assemblies for mounting an article to a surface by a double-faced adhesive. At least one spacer is used that is deflectable upon the application of sufficient force. When in a first, undeflected condition, the spacer provides sufficient space between the mounting surface and the double-faced adhesive such that the double-faced adhesive does not contact the mounting surface, thus the position of the article can be adjusted. When in a second, deflected condition, the spacer allows the double-faced adhesive to contact the mounting surface such that a bond can be established between the double-faced adhesive and the mounting surface.
Abstract:
A stretch releasing adhesive tape is disclosed comprising a pull tab comprising a single tab film which is adhered to both adhesive surfaces of the stretch releasing adhesive tape. The pull tab is foldable so as to comprise an unobtrusive visual appearance, and may also be extendable so that the pull tab may be grasped to activate the stretch release.
Abstract:
Security label for use as a detector of first-time opening of an article, having an adhesive layer for application to the article, and a detection layer, the detection layer having an optical feature which irreversibly indicates an attempt at detachment from the article, the security label having an extensibility of at least 50% and being removable substantially without residue from the article by stretching, characterized in that the security label has a predetermined breakage point at which the security label can be divided into two parts on first-time opening.
Abstract:
A releasable adhesive tape comprising an extensible substrate layer and a pressure sensitive adhesive layer held on at least one surface of said substrate layer, wherein one end portion is divided parallel to the longitudinal direction of the tape.
Abstract:
A redetachable self-adhesive device a) whose reverse face is bonded with a strip of a double-sidedly adhering adhesive sheet in such a way that one end of the adhesive sheet projects beyond the device as a grip tab, b) the adhesive sheet is such that the bond made with it is redetachable by stretching pulling on the grip tab of the strip in the direction of the bond plane, wherein c) on its reverse face (2) the device (1), in the region (3A, 3B) situated against the grip tab (6) of the adhesive sheet strip (5) or and also partly against the free adhesive composition, has an average roughness Ra of 0.4–25 μm.

Abstract:
A stretch releasable adhesive tape article includes an extensible adhesive strip having a non-adhesive pull tab and a shape retaining member arranged within or adjacent to the adhesive strip. The shape retaining member is repeatably manually movable between a first position allowing a user to manually grasp the non-adhesive pull tab to stretch release the adhesive strip from a substrate, and a displaced position for maintaining the non-adhesive pull tab at a position offset from the first position.
Abstract:
An adhesive tape construction is removable from one or more objects to which it is adhered and which is reusably separable within its construction so that an object can be separated from another and subsequently reconnected with one another. The adhesive tape construction can be used to bond the other opposed surfaces of objects, including rigid objects such as a picture frame to a wall, where no portion of the adhesive tape construction projects from between the objects, and which subsequently affords easy separation of the objects without damage to either of them. More specifically, the adhesive tape construction includes a stretch release adhesive tape structure combined with a reusable connector surface.
Abstract:
An adhesive sheet strip, single-sidedly or double-sidedly pressure-sensitively adhering, redetachable by extensive stretching pulling on a grip tab in the direction of the bond plane, wherein the grip tab is such that it has a static frictional force Fs of at least 170 cN.
Abstract:
An adhesive sheet strip for a redetachable bond, removable from a joint by pulling in the direction of the bond plane, having a nonadhering grip tab and a subsequent single-sidedly or double-sidedly adhering strip, which comprises of: a) a backing composed of a film having a tensile strength of 2-20 N/cm and an elongation at break of 200-800%, and b) applied to at least one side thereof, a polyurethane-based adhesive comprising: 60-80% by weight of an aliphatic isocyanate/polyol crosslinking system, 15-35% by weight of a filler, and 0.05-0.20% by weight of an activator, based on the total weight of the adhesive.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a double-sided pressure-sensitive adhesive tape having sides which differ in adhesive strength, and a method for its preparation. The double-sided pressure-sensitive adhesive tape comprises at least one adhesive layer comprising a pressure-sensitive adhesive based on a chemically crosslinked polyurethane. The double-sided pressure-sensitive adhesive tape is especially well-suited to adhere flexible storage media, such as CDs, CD-ROMs and DVDs, to curved, bent or creased surfaces. The double-sided pressure-sensitive is also especially well-suited for adhering customer cards and credit cards to paper.
