Abstract:
In an image data server 200, a preview data generation unit 218 generates preview data corresponding to image data, and a transmission controller 211 transmits the preview data to a computer system 100 in an image receiver apparatus. In accordance with another possible application, the preview data is not generated by the image data server 200, but is generated by a computer system 300 in an image transmitter apparatus, which transmits the image data to the image data server 200, and transmitted to the image data server 200. In the computer system 100 in the image receiver apparatus, a display controller 113 causes the contents of the preview data to be displayed on the screen of a monitor 150. The user determines whether or not the image data corresponding to the displayed preview image is required. In response to an instruction for transfer of the image data input from the user, a transmission controller 111 transmits a request for transfer of the image data to the image data server 200. The transmission controller 211 then transmits the image data, which is the object of the request for transfer, to the computer system 100 in the image receiver apparatus. A print controller 114 causes the image data to be subjected to predetermined image processing, and a printer 180 prints the processed image data on a printing sheet of paper. This arrangement of the present invention enables the image receiver apparatus to selectively receive only the required data.
Abstract:
A digital image storage system includes a digital camera having a memory capable of storing digital images and an adapter on which the digital camera is to be laid down for informing the adapter of the digital images in the memory. The digital image storage system further includes a data storage having a storage medium that stores the digital images informed through the adapter. The data storage includes a function unit that controls the digital image storage so that the informed digital images are stored in a predetermined folder prepared in the storage medium.
Abstract:
A digital image storage system includes a digital camera having a first terminal for data communication in accordance with a data communication interface standard and an adapter for the digital camera for communicating with the digital camera. The adapter has a second terminal for data communication in accordance with the same data communication interface standard as in the first terminal. The digital image storage system further includes a data storage having a third terminal for data communication in accordance with the same data communication interface standard as in the first terminal. The data storage is capable of communicating with the digital camera by way of the adapter through a connection between the third and the second terminals and also capable of directly communicating with the digital camera through a connection between the third and the first terminals.
Abstract:
A digital image storage includes a connector for communicating with a digital camera and a detector that detects a signal to cause the transmission of a digital data from a memory of the digital camera to the digital image storage. The digital image storage further includes a function unit responsive to the signal form the detector to carry out the transmission of the digital data of images with the other digital data not transmitted and a storage medium that stores the transmitted data of images.
Abstract:
A system for seamless distributed job control between a multifunction peripheral and a host. A host, such as a personal computer, is linked with one or more multifunction peripherals. Each multifunction peripheral has at least scanning and printing capability. However, the peripherals do not require extensive memory or processing capability, because the processing and storage of data is accomplished by the host. A user potentially may operate the peripheral through a peripheral interface or through a user interface of the host.
Abstract:
It is an object that even after a file system was changed by an external apparatus, a photographing and a recording operation can be normally performed. Under such an object, in a digital camera constructed by recording means which can be rewritten by a digital camera control apparatus connected to an outside and information holding means for holding information regarding the recording means there is provided an apparatus such that the information regarding the recording means is updated by reflecting the contents in the recording means by the information holding means in response to a request from the digital camera control apparatus, so that when a photographing or a communication is performed, the contents in the recording means is always reflected to the information holding means.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an image processing system for scanning a rectangular document. The system comprises a scanner with a scanning module and a computer. The computer has a memory, a processor, a scanner control program, and an image processing program. Depression of a start button generates a start signal that prompts the image processing system to rotate the document image from the scanned rectangular document by a tilting angle as well as to correct the image shape based on angle variation. This produces a straight and rectangular document image.
Abstract:
In a network having an initiator, a server, and an input/output (I/O) device remote from the initiator, the initiator transmits to the server a request containing the network location of data to be retrieved from an input device, such as a video camera, fax, or scanner, or output by an output device, such as a printer. Output requests are placed in a queue and scheduled for completion. When an output device is ready, the server retrieves the data from a network storage location different from the queue and transmits the data to the printer or output device for action. When an input device is ready, the server retrieves the data from the input device and transmits it to a network location based on the request. The server can also provide the initiator with status information about the request and the input or output device.
Abstract:
In an image scanning system which can scan an image in a plurality of scanning modes, and has a memory for storing a correction data file which has correction data for each of the plurality of scan modes, correction data corresponding to a scan mode of a given image scan operation is read out from the memory upon scanning an image, and an image scan is executed using the readout correction data. If correction data corresponding to the scan mode of that image scan operation is not stored in the memory, correction data corresponding to the scan mode is generated, and is stored in the memory.
Abstract:
A method is disclosed for accessing at least one image file transferred from a digital camera to a host computer by producing icons representative of portions of each image file, the at least one image file having a digital image and at least one audio data segment. The at least one image file is stored in a memory in the digital camera. The memory is coupled to the host computer so that the host computer identifies the at least one image file, recognizing the presence of the digital image and the at least one audio data segment in the memory. At least two icons are produced which are provided on a display associated with the host computer and which respectively represent the digital image and the at least one audio data segment. The digital image icon or the at least one audio data segment icon is then selectively accessed to cause the transfer of the digital image or the at least one audio data segment from the memory to the host computer for access by a user.
