摘要: A used wire cutting device for wire cut electric discharge machine which appropriately determines the time to replace a movable blade and a fixed blade of a cutting mechanism on the basis of not only time but also the degree of wear of each blade. The device includes a wear rate storage means for storing the wear rate per cut (1/P) of a blade of the wire cutting device depending on the diameter and material of the wire. The number of cuts performed during machining is obtained from the length of time from the start to the end of machining, and the number of actions of cutting per unit time. The number of cuts obtained is multiplied by the wear rate (1/P) for the wire used, and the resultant value is added to the last value of total wear rate R. With the value thus obtained, the last value of the total wear rate R is replaced. When the current value of the total wear rate R exceeds a predetermined wear rate, a message recommending blade (chip) replacement is sent out, and when the chip is replaced, the total wear rate R is reset to 0. Also when an alarm indicating wire cut failure is sent out, the chip is replaced and the total wear rate R is reset to 0. Further, the device is so arranged to be able to replace the wear rate (1/P) stored on the basis of data obtained by actual cutting.

摘要: It is to be possible to monitor manufacturing devices, in particular main spindles (1), centrally and securely. For this purpose it is provided that the respective main spindle (1) transmits operating and status data to a monitoring organization (2) over the Internet (3) for example. The data can be monitored there on the basis of limit values for example. Manufacturers (4) and OEMs (5) are preferably automatically notified if limit values are exceeded. The transmission of the operating data to the central monitoring organization (2) does not take up any of the machine's own resources for status monitoring and the manufacturers (4) are notified only if necessary. The active sending of the data from the manufacturing device or main spindle unit (1) to the monitoring organization (2) increases data security.

摘要: A cutter fracture detecting system is capable of detecting a fracture of a cutter highly accurately which may occur even when no substantial loads are imposed on a rotating axis and a cutter feed axis of a machine tool. A rotating axis disturbant load torque estimating unit (1) and a moving axis disturbant load torque estimating unit (2) monitor disturbant load torques on a spindle and an axis with respect to which a workpiece and a cutter move relatively to each other, and still axis disturbant load torque estimating units (3, 4) also monitor disturbant load torques on axes with respect to which the workpiece and the cutter do not move relatively to each other. A comparing unit (5) determines that the cutter is fractured based on the disturbant load torques estimated by the disturbant load torque estimating units. When a cutter fracture is detected, the machine tool is stopped by a machine shutdown command unit (6).

摘要: A method for estimating a load acting on a machine tool and controlling a life of the machine tool based on the estimated load. When predetermined machining is effected on a predetermined workpiece, a disturbance load torque acting on a motor for a spindle or a motor for a feed shaft is estimated by a disturbance estimating observer. When the estimated disturbance load becomes not lower than a set reference value, a timer is reset and started. If the estimated disturbance load torque is kept not smaller than the set reference value until the timer reaches a predetermined set time, a tool change command is issued to stop the machining. Since the tool life is determined in accordance with the magnitude of the load acting on the tool, the tool life is controlled objectively and accurately.

摘要: In a metal cutting tool wear indicator system, a ratio of an estimated ultrasonic emission signal from a metal cutting process to a measured ultrasonic emission signal, e.g. UE/UE is utilized in place of a prior ratio of horsepower to ultrasonic emission, e.g. HP/UE, together with a continuous revision of the estimator during the cutting process.
