Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to apparatus, devices, and methods for increasing force distribution at a suture-tissue interface. In some embodiments, a tissue suturing device may include a deployment device and a plurality of tissue supports deployable from the deployment device towards a target tissue. The plurality of tissue supports may each include a central opening for receiving a suture during deployment.

Abstract: Systems and methods for performing transcatheter coronary artery bypass grafting procedures are provided. The methods generally involve passing the graft from the aorta to the coronary artery through the pericardial space. The systems include poke-out wires, a coring device, and devices for forming anastomoses at the proximal and distal ends of a vascular graft.

Abstract: Catheter systems, tools and methods are disclosed for the selective and rapid application of DC voltage to drive irreversible electroporation, with the system controller configurable to apply voltages to an independently selected subsets of electrodes, such that voltages of one polarity are applied to a multiplicity of electrodes on a first medical device and voltages of the opposite polarity to a multiplicity of electrodes on a second medical device. The first and second medical devices can be epicardial catheters positioned such that their opposing distal tips are approximately aligned and whose segments with electrodes collectively wrap around the pulmonary veins.

Abstract: Injectable compositions and methods of use are discussed. The injectable composition may include at least one biocompatible material chosen from polyethylene glycol (PEG), alginate, methylcellulose, carboxymethylcellulose, hydroxypropylmethylcellulose, chitosan, carboxymethylchitosan, laponite, gelatin, xanthan gum, or a combination thereof, and a biocompatible salt solution. The composition may be formulated to form a gel in submucosal tissue to separate tissue layers. The viscosity of the composition may decrease by at least 50% at 37° C. within 24 hours.

Abstract: A method of providing embolic protection for carotid stenting includes advancing an arterial sheath into a patient's arterial system and advancing a venous sheath into the patient's venous system. A fluid connection may be established between the venous sheath and the arterial sheath that enables retrograde blood flow through the arterial sheath. The arterial sheath may be advanced through the vasculature and into the patient's carotid artery, and an inflatable balloon may be inflated within the patient's carotid artery in order to occlude antegrade blood flow therethrough. An interventional tool may be advanced through the inner lumen of the arterial sheath, the interventional tool dimensioned such that a portion of the cross-sectional area of an inner lumen of the arterial sheath remains open for retrograde blood flow.

Abstract: A movable device of a system for performing a medical procedure. The movable device has a reconfigurable portion capable of holding the movable device in a selected position with respect to other components of the system. The movable device may be moved with respect to other components of the system, and the reconfigurable portion may be bent or otherwise reconfigured with respect to the system to hold the movable device in a selected position. The movable device may be a tissue grasping device. The tissue grasping device may be formed to permit grasping and ungrasping of tissue without damaging the tissue. The tissue grasping device may include a tissue engagement element which may be formed from a helically laser cut tube.

Abstract: A medical device may comprise a handle having a fluid source, a conduit coupled to the handle, and a distal portion coupled to a distal end of the conduit. The distal portion may comprise an outer portion defining a lumen and an inner portion. The inner portion may be disposed within the lumen if the outer portion. The inner portion may define a cavity having a distal opening. The cavity may be configured to contain a material. In a first configuration of the distal portion, the material is disposed within the inner portion. Delivery of a fluid from the fluid source into the lumen of the outer portion transitions the distal portion from the first configuration to a second configuration and causes the inner portion to move distally relative to the outer portion and deliver at least a portion of the material.

Abstract: A medical system includes a shaft having a proximal end and a distal end, an imaging device at the distal end of the shaft, and a controller, the controller receives image data comprising pixel data from the imaging device, the pixel data including a plurality of individual pixel values, converts the pixel data from a RGB format to a YCbCr format, and forms adjusted pixel data by applying a gain to the pixel data, wherein the gain is based on a Y value, a Cb value, and a Cr value of the individual pixel values of the converted pixel data.
