    Abstract: Embodiments of the present technology may include systems and processes associated with automatically generating supercuts associated with programming content. The present technology may include receiving, at the computing device, a set of related programming content, wherein the set of related programming content includes video clips; receiving an input from a user including a command to generate a supercut and a keyword associated with the supercut; searching the set of related programming content for portions of the video clips associated with the keyword; identifying a first event within a first video clip associated with the keyword and a second event within a second video clip associated with the keyword; determining a type of event associated with each of the first and second events and link the types of events with their respective events; determining a pre-event time period and a post-event time period for each of the first and second events based on the types of events; and generating and displaying a supercut using the first event, the second event, the pre-event time periods, and the post-event time periods. The above steps may be implemented as a computer-implemented method, computer program product, or device such as a television receiver, or in other types of embodiments.

    Abstract: Devices, systems, and processes for facilitating seamless use of tuners across multiple devices within a LAN are described and may include use of a first user device, communicatively coupled to the LAN, that includes a first hardware processor configured to execute first, non-transient, computer instructions for facilitating a first seamless tuner engine configured to identify at least one first tuner. A second user device, communicatively coupled to the LAN, may include a second hardware processor configured to execute second, non-transient, computer instructions for facilitating a second seamless tuner configured to identify at least one second tuner. At least one of, if not each, of seamless tuner engines may be configured to generate a universal tuner directory identifying availability of each the tuners. The universal tuner directory may be populated and tuners allocated based upon an emergency broadcast, auto-tune, PPV, original content, re-run, or Joey request type.

    Abstract: A facility for generating analytical information based on individual reports of multiple scheduled presentations of interstitial media assets is provided. Data files are received, each including multiple status reports regarding multiple scheduled presentations of multiple media assets by a plurality of distinct media receiver devices in multiple disparate locations. The data files are decrypted, such that the decrypted one or more data files include, for each of the multiple status reports, at least a media asset identifier and a presentation status indicator, and parsed to generate one or more database entries containing information regarding the scheduled media presentations and the plurality of distinct media receiver devices. One or more user interfaces are provided to allow execution of queries based on the generated one or more databases.

    Abstract: A facility for transferring configuration information to a target media device is described. The facility receives in the target media device a copy of media device settings stored in a source media device distinct from the target media device in a first form in which they are used in the source media device. This copy of media device settings is received by the target media device via a route other than its visual user interface. The facility causes the received copy of media device settings to be transformed into a second form in which they can be used in the target media device. The facility then stores the media receiver settings in the second form in the target media device for use by the target media device.

    Abstract: Novel techniques are described for viewer compositing using media playback systems for enhanced media recommendation and consumption. For example, a display device can be in communication with a media recommendation and consumption compositor (MRCC) system. When a group of viewers desires a shared media consumption experience, the MRCC system can detect the group of viewers and can obtain respective viewer profiles, which can be used to generate a composite profile representing a composite of the group of viewers. The MRCC system can determine an available content space indicating the content available for consumption and can compute a content recommendation space as a function of the composite viewer profile and the available content space that defines recommended content options for the composited group of viewers. A recommendation interface can be output to indicate recommended content options for selecting and viewing.

    Abstract: Devices, systems and processes for providing relevant, real-time information to a responder are described. For at least one embodiment, a process may include receiving, by a responder system, alert data identifying an incident location. The process may include determining whether relevant data for the incident location is stored in the responder system. When relevant data is not stored in the responder system, the process may include obtaining the relevant data for the incident location from an external data source and storing the obtained relevant data in the responder system. While proceeding to the incident location, the process may include generating, based on the alert data and the relevant data, initial augmented reality information for presentation to a responder associated with the responder system. Upon arriving at the incident location, the process may include generating second augment reality information for the responder. Upon arriving within a localized area of the incident location, the process may include identifying and selecting an IoT device operable within the localized area, establishing a communications link with the selected IoT device, receiving first IoT device data from the selected IoT device, and generating, based on the first IoT device data, third augmented reality information.

    Abstract: A method includes determining that data out of a peripheral device has been interrupted. In response, control signals are transmitted that cause power to not be supplied to the peripheral device and then cause power to be supplied to the peripheral device. If the peripheral device is determined to not be outputting data, whether data into the peripheral device has been restored is determined. If it is not, control signals are transmitted that cause power to not be supplied to a router and then cause power to be supplied to the router. If the router is determined to be outputting data, control signals are transmitted that cause power to not be supplied to a wireless access point that is coupled to the modem and then cause power to be supplied to the wireless access point. Whether the wireless access point is outputting data is determined.

    Abstract: Novel techniques are described for platooning of computational resources in automated vehicle networks. An on-board computational processor of an automated vehicle typically performs a large number of computational tasks, and some of those computational tasks can be computationally intensive. Some such tasks, referred to as platoonable tasks herein, are well-suited for parallel processing by multiple processors. Embodiments can detect one or more on-board computational processors in one or more automated vehicles that are likely, during the time window in which the platoonable task will be executed, to have available computational resources and to be traveling along respective paths that are close enough to each other to allow for ad hoc network communications to be established between the processors. In response to detecting such cases, embodiments can schedule and instruct shared execution of the platoonable tasks by the multiple processors via the ad hoc network.

    Abstract: An Internet Layer end-to-end security connection (an Internet protocol (IP) encrypted tunnel) is established between a television receiving device and each player device on a home local area network (LAN) as part of the initial pairing process between each player device and the television receiving device. Traffic between the television receiving device and the player device is communicated via IP on the LAN, such that data between the two devices is securely encrypted at the Internet Layer, thus reducing potential security issues related to managing security and encryption at the application layer. This results in a secure virtual private network (VPN) between each player device and the television receiving device.
