    Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for improving telecommunications services by intelligently deploying radio access network components and redundant links within a data center hierarchy to satisfy latency, power, availability, and quality of service requirements for one or more network slices are described. The radio access network components may include virtualized distributed units (VDUs) and virtualized centralized units (VCUs). To satisfy a latency requirement for a network slice, various components of a radio access network may need to be redeployed closer to user equipment. To satisfy a power requirement for the network slice, various components of the radio access network may need to be redeployed closer to core network components. Over time, the components of the radio access network may be dynamically reassigned to different layers within a data center hierarchy in order to satisfy changing latency requirements and power requirements for the network slice.

The virtualized network functions may be deployed across different data centers of a data center hierarchy that electrically connect one or more user devices with one or more data networks. A set of virtualized network functions may be assigned to computing resources within a particular data center based on latency requirements, power requirements, and/or quality of service requirements for one or more network slices supported by the set of virtualized network functions. The set of virtualized networks functions may include a set of shared core network functions that are shared by two or more network slices.

    Abstract: Various arrangements for performing blockchain-based emergency call origination are presented herein. An emergency communication can be routed between a piece of user equipment (UE) and a public safety answering point (PSAP) via a network, such as a cellular network or ISP network. One or more nodes of the network can update a blockchain ledger used to route the emergency communication. The blockchain ledger can be accessed to determine a communication path between the piece of UE and the PSAP. The location of the piece of UE can be estimated based on the communication path.

    Abstract: Embodiments are directed towards employing parallel satellite and wire transmissions to facilitate 5G communications. A network origination system receives, via 5G communication, a message from an origination device for distribution to a destination device. The network origination system determines a priority of the message and selects a transmission mechanism—wire transmission, satellite transmission, or parallel transmission—in which to transmit the message to the network destination system based on the priority. The network origination system transmits the message to a network destination system via the selected transmission mechanism. The network destination system forwards the message to the destination device and determines if the message is tagged for the parallel transmission. If the message is tagged for parallel transmission, the network destination system determines if the message is received via wire transmission and satellite transmission within a time window associated with a transmission time obtained from the message.
