Abstract: A display device includes an optical waveguide layer, a variable refractive index layer, and an optical layer. The refractive index of the variable refractive index layer changes in response to application of a drive voltage. The optical layer reflects or absorbs light. The variable refractive index layer reflects the light to be guided through the optical waveguide layer 11 toward the inside of the optical waveguide layer depending on the refractive index of the variable refractive index layer to allow the optical waveguide layer to guide the reflected light. The variable refractive index layer introduces the light to be guided through the optical waveguide layer into the variable refractive index layer depending on the refractive index of the variable refractive index layer and emits the introduced light out of the variable refractive index layer. The optical layer reflects or absorbs the light emitted from the variable refractive index layer.

Abstract: A biosignal measurement apparatus that is used by being affixed on a living body is provided with: an affixed part that is a sheet, in which a signal-acquiring section of multiple electrodes and wiring connected to each of the electrodes are formed, and which can be freely expanded, contracted and bent and is adhesive; and a substrate that is connected to the wiring and on which a signal-processing circuit for wirelessly transmitting biosignals obtained through the wiring is mounted. The signal-acquiring section is exposed on the surface of the affixed part and the affixed part and the substrate are stacked so that the back surface of the affixed part faces the substrate.

Abstract: Provided is a method for manufacturing a solid oxide and a device therefor, capable of manufacturing a solid oxide used as an optical material without introducing damaged layers caused by machining, which does not use any polishing agent or abrasive grains including rare earth elements, or does not use any solution, such as hydrogen fluoride, for which handling is difficult and which imposes a heavy environmental burden. In the presence of water 1, a solid oxide in which one or more kinds of elements are bonded through oxygen is used as an object to be manufactured; a catalyst substance, which cuts a backbond between an oxygen element and another element, forming the solid oxide, by dissociation of a water molecule, and adsorbs it, and helps production of a decomposition product by hydrolysis, is used as a machining reference surface (3); the object (5) to be manufactured and the machining reference surface are disposed so that they are brought into contact with each other or they are brought very close to each other in the presence of water; a potential of the machining reference surface is adjusted to a range where neither H2 nor O2 is produced; and the object to be manufactured is moved relative to the machining reference surface thereby to remove a decomposition product from the surface of the object to be manufactured.

Abstract: A technique for automating the identifying of a measurement point in cephalometric image analysis is provided. An automatic measurement point recognition method includes a step of detecting, from a cephalometric image 14 acquired from a subject, a plurality of peripheral partial regions 31, 32, 33, 34 for recognizing a target feature point, a step of estimating a candidate position of the feature point in each of the peripheral partial regions 31, 32, 33, 34 by the application of a regression CNN model 10, and a step of determining the position of the feature point in the cephalometric image 14 based on the distribution of the candidate positions estimated. In the step of detecting, for example, the peripheral partial region 32, a classification CNN model 13 trained with a control image 52 is applied.
