Abstract: Disclosed is an air conditioner, in which, when a temperature sensor is rotated, the rotating speed of the temperature sensor is increased or the temperature sensing cycle is elongated in a rotating section where an object does not exist rather than in a rotating section where the object exists. Further, the rotating speed of the temperature sensor is increased or the temperature sensing cycle is elongated if the object is located at a short distance from the air conditioner rather than if the object is located at a normal distance from the air conditioner, and the rotating speed of the temperature sensor is decreased or the temperature sensing cycle is shortened if the object is located at a long distance from the air conditioner rather than if the object is located at a normal distance from the air conditioner.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are a method and an apparatus to identify alpha-emitting radionuclides and to measure absolute alpha radioactivity using a low temperature detector. A 4π metallic absorber which encloses a radioactive material containing alpha-emitting radionuclides absorbs the total alpha decay energy in the form of thermal energy. The corresponding temperature changes are measured by a low temperature detector attached to the 4π absorber with high energy resolution. The identification of alpha-emitting radionuclides is declared by comparing the measured temperature signal with characteristic decay energy of radionuclides. The absolute amount of the radionuclides is determined by counting the number of the pulses for each of the identified nuclides.

Abstract: A washing machine is disclosed. A water supply structure includes a water current guiding unit for supplying water, which is to be supplied into an inner tub after passing through a detergent dispenser, toward a wall side of the inner tub. Accordingly, when a rinsing operation is performed after spin-drying, water cannot be supplied to a central portion of the inner tub but be supplied to the wall side of the inner tub, so that although the laundry gathers on the wall of the inner tub, water can be sufficiently supplied to the laundry to effectively remove a remaining detergent from the laundry.

Abstract: The present invention is drawn to a method for enhancing secretional efficiency of a heterologous protein using a secretional enhancer consisting of a modified signal sequence which comprises the N-region of a signal sequence and/or a hydrophobic fragment of the said signal sequence comprising the said N-region and/or the hydrophilic polypeptide. The method of the present invention can be used not only for production of recombinant heterologous proteins by inhibiting insoluble precipitation and enhancing secretional efficiency of the recombinant protein into the periplasm or the extracellular fluid and but also for transduction of therapeutic proteins by enhancing membrane-permeability of the recombinant protein using a strong secretional enhancer.

Abstract: A ginseng processing method and a processed ginseng prepared by the processing method are provided. The ginseng processing method includes the steps of: mixing 10.about.99.5 wt % of grapes and/or wild grapes with 0.5.about.90 wt % of ginseng; adding water to the mixture of grapes and/or wild grapes with ginseng with a weight ratio of 1.about.10:1; heating the mixture at 45.about.130.degree. C. for 1.about.70 hours; and cooling the heated mixture to room temperature. According to the ginseng processing method using grapes and/or wild grapes, the side effects caused by taking only ginseng are decreased or eliminated. Also, the browning of the ginseng is facilitated, reducing the amount of effort and time required for processing the ginseng. Also, the processed ginseng is acceptable to many persons in taste, aroma and color, and can be used in various forms for various purposes.
