Abstract:
A panel having an ornamental façade adapted for securing to a foundation. The panel may be assembled to produce a skirting system for building structures or in hedging/retaining-walls/walkways and other such landscape features. The panel has a member, which may be plastic, comprising an outwardly-directed surface to which the ornamental façade is affixed, and an inwardly-directed surface to which a plastic support framework is integrally coupled. Framework comprises a first section (of suitably shaped cross-section, tubular or solid) located generally along the periphery of the inwardly-directed surface and further can include an interconnect section extending between the first section. Right and left vertical supports may be coupled to the inwardly-directed surface. Each vertical support comprises an angle iron shaped extension, a top-end and lower-end of which has a respective ledge permanently affixed. Also included is a method of producing the panel having an ornamental façade adapted for securing to a foundation.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for metering execution of code at runtime are described. According to one implementation, a call is received requesting execution of a protected service. In response, permission is requested for the execution. The request for permission is analyzed. A grant of permission is based on the analysis.
Abstract:
A dispute resolution system for requesting a service provider to provide services so that the service provider can demonstrate to a service intermediary that a service consumer requested services. A service consumer that wants to start requesting services of the service provider registers with the service intermediary an end code of a sequence of code generated using a one-way function. The service intermediary provides the end code to the service provider. The service consumer can then using codes of the sequence requests the service provider to provide services. When the service provider receives a request, it verifies that the code of the request can be used to derive the end code. If the verification is successful, then the service provider can provide the verified code to the service intermediary as non-repudiatable evidence of the services requested by the service consumer.
Abstract:
A lift as a personal tool used manually to lift portions of a fuel hose successively, equipped to slide along the fuel hose as a user walks erect as the user moves along the fuel hose progressively causing residual fuel in the fuel hose to drain out the hose distal end, away from the fuel truck. The lift includes a handle adapted for grasping by its user separated from a fuel hose support by a bar depending from the handle forming a C-shape with an open portion opposite the bar and a trough opposite the handle. A roller disposed to roll on the hose support has a radially extending flange on each roller end maintaining the fuel hose central on the roller. In use, the user walks in erect posture from the truck along the fuel hose with the lift hanging from the user's downwardly extending arm. As the hose leads to the ground and before the hose reaches the ground, the hose moves into the lift trough engaging the hose at a hose engagement level several inches above the ground. As the user continues to walk slowly along the hose, the lift lifts the fuel hose in successive portions along the fuel hose progressively urging fuel in the hose to move forward of the lift by gravity while hose portions rearward of the lift, that is, toward the truck, fall to the ground empty of fuel.
Abstract:
The instant invention is a programmable, multi-colored, digital pool light system capable of operating multiple light sources and varying the power provided to each light bulb providing virtually unlimited amounts of light intensity, color blending and saturation. The light bulbs are mounted in a heat absorbing plate and light dispersing dichroic lenses are mounted above selected light bulbs. The program is operated by the ON/OFF switch.
Abstract:
Water-soluble folic acid compositions and pharmaceutical dosage forms comprising the compositions and methods for making the same are disclosed.
Abstract:
A miniature visual display has an optical lens system with at least two separated lens elements positioned to admit a scanning mirror between them. The scanning mirror is driven with an oscillatory motion causing an image of a light source which is reflected in the mirror to appear to sweep across the field of view of an observer looking into the system. The light source is typically a linear array of light-emitting diodes, and the diodes are controlled to emit light flashes in synchronism with the scanning mirror oscillation frequency to generate a virtual raster image. The two lens elements are selected and arranged so that the magnification power of the system is split between the lenses. A viewer looking into the system sees a virtual image apparently positioned at a comfortable viewing distance which is in uniform focus over the entire viewing area.
Abstract:
A photomultiplier includes a cascade of microchannel plates which are physically and electrically connected to provide an electron multiplication through the microchannel cascade. One of the microchannel plates is a high-output microchannel plate providing a high level of electron multiplication. This high output microchannel plate is thermally conducted to ambient by a heat transfer path including outwardly disposed microchannel plates in the cascade. A unitary ceramic housing defines a vacuum envelope for the photomultiplier.
Abstract:
A process for producing a medical electrode. A coil of conductive metal is slid over a tubular insulative substrate. The spaces between individual turns of the coil are backfilled with an insulative plastic. The backfilled plastic is thereafter etched away from and off of the exterior of the metal coil by means of a gas plasma.
Abstract:
An all-in-one coverall device to accommodate temperature changes and/or work conditions throughout the day is disclosed. The device is a modifiable coverall garment featuring multiple removably attachable components connected by zippers. The device also features an adjustable elastic drawstring waistband. Thus, via attaching or detaching the different components of the device with the various zippers and/or adjusting the waistband, a user can quickly and easily configure the device to fit their needs and weather/work conditions.
