Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for controlling flare in roll-forming processes are disclosed. An example system includes a component position detector configured to detect a component. The example system also includes a comparator configured to compare a flare tolerance value and a flare measurement value of the component and a storage interface configured to retrieve a roller position value from a memory based on the comparison. In addition, the example system includes a flange roller adjuster communicatively coupled to the storage interface and the component position detector and configured to obtain the roller position value from the storage interface and change a position of a roller based on the roller position value to condition the component.
Abstract:
Methods and computer readable media for restoring a database. In a method, a backup of a subset of a database is created, where the subset includes a filegroup and database metadata describing the filegroup. The database is then restored using the database subset. In a computer-readable medium, a first data field contains data representing a database subset having at least one of a plurality of filegroups. A second data field contains data representing database metadata that describes the filegroup. In another method, archived database metadata and an archived filegroup that is one of a plurality of filegroups is accessed, and the filegroup is brought online using the database metadata.
Abstract:
A system and method for providing collaboration communities in a computer portal environment. The system comprises a community portal tool for creating community portals, portal applications, or portal web applications. In one embodiment, the portal can be one of a number of enterprise applications on server software. The portal can include a community context that can have an indication of members of the community. The indication can be, for example, a list of the members or pointer to a list of members. The community portal can be constructed from portal elements and the community context. The community portal tool can also be used to select a community portal template from a portal component library. The template can include standard elements from the construction of a community portal. A standardized look and feel, layout, and components such as a calendars can be in a community template.
Abstract:
A user interface for multimedia centers advantageously utilizes hand-held inertial-sensing user input devices to select channels and quickly navigate the dense menus of options. Extensive use of the high resolution and bandwidth of such user input devices is combined with strategies to avoid unintentional inputs and with dense and intuitive interactive graphical displays.

Abstract:
An interactive media control module provides flexible subscriber VCR controls of and functions for an interactive media system that limit the consumption of bandwidth capacity. According to some of the embodiments, a reactivation function is provided when pause and rewind controls are deactivated in a viewing window and presents information that the pause and rewind controls have been deactivated and a reactivation function to reactivate the pause and rewind controls by ordering supplemental fixed VCR control time. According to some of the other embodiments, a post-viewing time function is provided when a viewing window ends and presents information that the viewing time is ended, viewing statistics, and an activation function to order supplemental fixed viewing time to view the remaining program time.
Abstract:
An Interactive Media Control Module provides flexible subscriber VCR controls of and functions for an interactive media system that limit the consumption of bandwidth capacity. According to some of the embodiments, a reactivation function is provided when pause and rewind controls are deactivated in a viewing window such that the pause and rewind controls may be reactivated by ordering a bookmarked viewing window.
Abstract:
Provided are compounds and compositions thereof that are useful for treating inflammation, particularly pulmonary inflammations including asthma and asthma-related pathologies such as allergy. Abstract:
Switch card apparatus are disclosed. In one embodiment, a circuit includes a first portion having a first switch adapted to be coupled to a first voltage, a second portion including a second switch, and a third portion including a third switch. The first portion activates the first switch to couple the first voltage to the second portion. Similarly, the second portion activates the second switch in response to a second input signal and the first voltage to couple a second voltage to the third portion. Finally, the third portion activates the third switch in response to a third input signal and in response to the second voltage from the second portion to couple a control voltage to a load. Embodiments of the invention provide the desired reliability suitable for a variety of electrical systems, including arming and firing applications over a wide voltage and wide current range.
Abstract:
Load test apparatus for shipping containers comprising a horizontal beam (200), the beam having pivotal plate assemblies (210) attached to lifting eyes (330) or other feature of a container by cables (130) or similar means, extending from the pivotal plates to the lifting eyes. The pivotal plates rotate about a horizontal pin (430) permitting the pivotal plates to become axially aligned with the cables. The Horizontal beam is forced vertically upward by a plurality of force generating means such as hydraulic cylinders (120). The force of the force generating means is applied through a point common to the longitudinal axis of the horizontal beam and the axis of the horizontal pin, thereby eliminating moment loads within components of the assembly. The opposite vertically downward reaction force is applied to the bottom of the container and simulates the force applied by the weight of the typical contents of the container when it is in use.
