Abstract:
A digital image sensing apparatus having a plurality of programs for connecting the apparatus to a plural types of external device. When sensed video image data is transferred to the external device, the characteristic of the external device is obtained so that the video image data can be converted into data in form receivable and interpretable by the external device. An application program is selected in accordance with the obtained characteristic, then the video image data is converted in accordance with the selected program, and the converted video image data is outputted to the external device.
Abstract:
An engine includes an engine body and an air induction system. The engine body has a cylinder block that defines cylinder bores. Pistons are reciprocally disposed within the respective cylinder bores. A cylinder head member closes the respective cylinder bore to define combustion chambers together with the cylinder bores and the pistons. The air induction system is arranged to supply air to the combustion chambers. The air induction system includes intake conduits that communicate with the combustion chambers. Inlet conduits communicate with the intake conduits and extend along the intake conduits to provide a sufficiently long air intake to improve the torque characteristics of the engine. In one preferred outboard marine embodiment, this longer air intake does not require any increase in the size of the engine cowling.
Abstract:
External magnetic fields H(x) or reproducing light beams L(x) having different intensity patterns are applied to an identical recording position on a magneto-optical recording medium so that different pieces of information corresponding to the patterns are reproduced from the identical recording position. A function H(x) or L(x) is a password for obtaining the information. Only a person, who knows the function, can access specified information recorded on the magneto-optical recording medium. The function H(x) or L(x) is a function in which the magnetic field intensity or the light intensity is modulated with respect to the recording position x so that magnetic domains may be thinned out to perform reproduction at a specified cycle from continuous magnetic domains in a recording area. Other than the use for the purpose of security, reproduced C/N can be remarkably improved by performing reproduction n times while radiating a reproducing light beam PL/PH which is power-modulated so that the high power PH is applied at every cycle which is not less than n times the recording clock, to a specified magneto-optical recording medium capable of magnetic domain-magnifying reproduction.

A motor for moving a magnetic head includes a carriage. A suspension supports the magnetic head, and is connected to the carriage. A coil is fixed to the carriage. A guide rod is centered at the coil. A magnet arrangement consists of only two magnets located at positions opposed diagonally with respect to the guide rod.
Abstract:
A magneto-optical disk apparatus and an adjustment method of a head mechanism are provided for strictly and quickly adjusting a setting position of a magnetic head with respect to an optical axis of an optical head. The adjustment method is executed by the following steps. A magnetic super resolution type magneto-optical disk is mounted to the magneto-optical disk apparatus provided with the optical head and the magnetic head. Then, an external magnetic field from the magnetic head is applied onto the magneto-optical disk as applying a laser beam of a reproduction level onto the magneto-optical disk. Then, a reproduction signal output read from the magneto-optical disk is detected concurrently with the application of the external magnetic field. Next, a fine adjustment mechanism is operated so that the reproduction signal output is made maximum with respect to the direction of the external magnetic field, for the purpose of sequentially changing a setting position of the magnetic head with respect of the optical axis of the optical head.

According to the stencil making and attaching method of a printing device of the present invention, independent of variations in the detection of the stencil sheet set position detection sensor and variations in the clamped state due to curled stencil sheet, etc., it is possible to always set the image-formation start position of the stencil sheet at a regular position with respect to the drum rotation position, and consequently to improve the positional precision of the printing operation.
Abstract:
In a reflection type image reader having a stage glass on which an original is placed with its image facing downward to be read out by a photoelectric image reading head from the lower side so as to be converted into an electric signal, in order to make it, easy to position the original relative to the stage glass, an original positioning sheet, bearing an original positioning reference mark is placed on the stage glass in a fixed positional relationship thereto, with the original being placed between the stage glass and the original positioning sheet with its image facing downward, while a light source for original positioning is provided below the stage glass to illuminate the original from its front side, so that the image observable by the light passed through the original is referred to against the reference mark of the original positioning sheet.

Abstract:
A magneto-optical recording medium comprises, on a substrate, a dielectric layer, a GdFeCo reproducing layer, a non-magnetic layer, and a TbFeCo recording layer. Upon reproduction, a DC magnetic field Hex is applied in the recording direction, and a reproducing light beam is radiated while being modulated to have a low power and a high power in synchronization with a reproducing clock. The reproducing layer is a magnetic film which changes from in-plane magnetization into perpendicular magnetization at a critical temperature Tcr, which has a compensation temperature Tcomp between room temperature and a Curie temperature Tc, and which satisfies Troom
