Abstract:
Abstract of DisclosureThe invention relates to a rollator which tubular frame assembly comprising a pair of U-shaped side frames connected by a front brace. The side frames also have a cross bar that extends between the front legs and the back legs of the frame. The side frames are pivotably attached to the front brace so that the side frames can fold inward. Further, the rollator has a molded rigid seat that is mounted on pivot brackets to allow it to pivot upward out of the way of the user. The pivot brackets have an offset axis of rotation so that the seat nestles in a curved area of the front brace.
Abstract:
A wheeled walker having a moveable carry basket. The walker has a carry basket mounted between the front leg members. The mounting arrangement permits the basket to be moved between a first position in which the basket projects forward of the front leg members for ease of loading and unloading and a second position in which the basket is displaced substantially rearward of the front leg members under the seating surface.
Abstract:
An apparatus that is convertible between walker and a wheelchair has one pair of wheels that are continually engaged with the ground and a second pair of wheels that are movable from a first position out of engagement or disengaged with the ground, in which the apparatus is used as a walker, to a second position into engagement with the ground, in which the apparatus is used as a wheelchair. The movable wheels are controllable by the operator through the use of handle members connected such wheels. The handle members rotate the wheels into and out of engagement with the ground along a path that is at an angle from the vertical, thereby assuring disengagement of the wheels from the ground.
Abstract:
The safety support device of this invention includes a frame having a mounting section. A pair of forward legs are attached to a forward end of the mounting section and a pair of rear legs are attached to a rear end of the mounting section. Each leg has a distal end to which is attached a roller assembly that includes a roller member mounted so that with the weight of the user bearing down on the assembly the roller member is prevented from moving. In a second embodiment used to assist injured or elderly person stand erect, the legs are long and arm support members engage the arm pits of the user when the user is being supported by the device. A third embodiment employs a manually release mechanism associated with each under arm support member that enables the user while standing erect to change the position of the under arm support members
Abstract:
A transportable offloading weight apparatus for supporting a portion of a patient's weight undergoing gait training is provided. The offloading weight apparatus employs a resilient suspension system to reduce the amount of weight borne by a patient. The offloading weight apparatus includes a frame having a connection linkage, a rope routed in the frame through a pulley system, a resilient cord that is attached to the frame at one end and connected to the connection linkage through one end of the rope, a harness support assembly secured to another end of the rope and a tension adjustor for applying tension to the resilient cord.
Abstract:
A physical exercise device using a T-shaped bar, comprises: a vertical rod constituting the T-shaped bar and having a plurality of first height-adjusting holes; a hollow vertical rod telescopically fitted around the vertical rod and having a plurality of second height-adjusting holes; a horizontal rod horizontally secured to the hollow vertical rod and having a pair of footrests fixed thereto; a pair of vane-shaped cushioning plates attached to the pair of footrests, respectively, and each having a thinner front and a thicker rear; a base having a projection formed at one end thereof; and a seat secured onto the base and having a higher front and a lower rear. According to the present invention, it is possible to effectively conduct a leg exercise for relieving the leg muscles' fatigue by relaxing the sole muscles and the calf muscles, a thigh exercise for relieving the thigh muscles' fatigue by relaxing the thigh muscles, back and neck exercises for relieving the back muscles and neck muscles' fatigue by relaxing the back muscles and the neck muscles, and a groin exercise for relieving the groin muscles' fatigue by relaxing the groin muscles, whereby a massage effect is afforded and an exercise of the whole body is made possible.
Abstract:
The chair according to the invention comprises a chassis (60) with a support for the user, specifically a seat, a cab for a stroller, or handles for pushing the device. The chassis consists of two portions (61, 62) connected by an articulation (63) with a transverse axle. The first chassis portion (61) is equipped with two main wheels (66) whose common axle (67) is near the line of action (p) of the user's weight, and at least one front or rear contact wheel (68). The second chassis portion (62) uses at least one contact wheel (69) to contact the ground at the other end of the chair. The wheels may be arranged in a diamond shape, and the contact wheels (68, 69) turn freely. There is preferably a spring device (72) connecting the two chassis portions to store and release energy when clearing obstacles. In the case of a wheelchair, the main wheels (66) are either manually driven or controlled by separate motors. The distinctive features of such a device are ease of manipulation and ability to clear obstacles.
Abstract:
A spa of a type including a tub for holding water and a user, in particular, a female user. The spa has a seat for supporting the female user in a seated position, a circulation pump having an inlet connected to the tub for drawing water from the tub, and an outlet connected to the tub for discharging the drawn water back to the tub. A discharge nozzle is located within the tub and connected to the outlet, mounted to the seat so that the discharged water from the circulation pump automatically aligns with and is directed to stimulation points (e.g., the clitoris) of the female user when the female user sits in the seat.
Abstract:
An adult walker having a suspended seat assembly which may be adjusted to accommodate the user. Included is an adjustable support frame which may be raised and lowered with respect to the walking surface. This walker is accessed from the rear, making it safer and easier to enter and exit. Also included is a ramp for ease of access by a wheelchair user.
