Abstract:
A belt loader assembly includes a belt loader and an extension assembly. The belt loader includes a conveyor belt and a frame. The extension assembly includes an extension portion, a connection portion, and a bumper portion. The extension portion includes a plate having a first end portion and a second end portion. The connection portion is engaged with the first end portion of the plate and with the frame of the belt loader. The bumper portion is engaged with the second end portion of the plate. An extension assembly includes a plate having a first end portion and an oppositely disposed second end portion. The extension assembly further includes a bumper portion engaged to the plate at the second portion. The bumper portion includes a bumper. A connection portion is engaged with the first end portion and adapted for engagement with a belt loader.
Abstract:
A conveyor system, and method of controlling the conveyor system, includes providing a conveying surface, at least one motor propelling the conveying surface and a plurality of lower-level controllers. At least one of the lower-level controllers adapted to control the at least one motor. An upper-level controller is provided in communication with the plurality of lower-level controllers. The upper-level controller is adapted to send communications to the lower-level controllers for controlling the at least one motor. A communications bus is provided that carries the communications between the upper-level controller and the lower-level controllers. The upper-level controller is adapted to automatically assign each lower-level controller a unique communications address. The unique communications address enables the upper-level controller to send messages over the communications bus to individual ones of the lower-level controllers.
Abstract:
The invention provides a diverter assembly for transferring moving articles from one conveying surface to another conveying surface, comprising: a) a frame; b) at least one endless belt suspended between spaced apart pulleys supported on the frame, wherein the endless belt defines an unsupported belt span for contacting articles on the one conveying surface and transferring the contacted article to the another conveying surface; and c) an actuator operably connected to the frame to move the unsupported belt span in a position to contact the article moving on the one conveying surface to transfer the article to the another conveying surface.
Abstract:
A baggage positioner having a horizontal conveyor, a position sensor, a pair of positioning arms with bi-directional vertical belts and a positioning arm controller. Other sensors can be added to provide additional data for enhanced effectiveness. The vertical belts can also be equipped with variable speed drives for enhanced effectiveness.
Abstract:
An novel apparatus and technique may be used to induct articles onto a conveyor comprising at least one conveyor belt that moves articles along a first path that extends in a first direction. The apparatus may be used to move an article along a second path that extends in a second direction, which is transverse to the first direction, to a first position above but not in contact with the at least one conveyor belt. After the article has been moved to the first position above but not in contact with the at least one conveyor belt, the apparatus may be used to move the article onto the at least one conveyor belt.
Abstract:
The invention is an alignment device, method and system for use in conjunction with a conveyor system to assure the proper desired alignment and positioning of items being transported on a conveyor belt system in relation to the direction of travel of the said conveyor belt system. The said alignment device, method and system is comprised of a series of resistibly deflectable roller baffle assembly which are positioned along the sides of the said conveyor belt system, and extend pivotally over and into the path of travel of the said conveyor belt, but are deflected toward the edge of the said conveyor belt when contacted items on the conveyor belt, which baffles press against the edges of the items on the conveyor belt and thereby cause the rotational movement of the said items to the desired alignment and positioning. The said alignment device, method and system is particularly applicable to the handling of checked-in baggage in an airport security environment.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an apparatus for discharging and transferring load carriers to connection conveyors (2), running transversely to a conveying path (1), by means of transporting belts (2a, b and c) which circulate parallel to one another, and transversely to the conveying path, and form a horizontal rest for the load carriers (3). In order to provide such an apparatus which, along with a low level of production outlay and straightforward functioning, operates quickly and effectively, it is proposed that at least two of the transporting belts (2a and 2b) project at least into that half of the conveying path (1) which is directed toward the discharging apparatus (4), and at least one further transporting belt (2c) passes through the conveying path (1), and that the transporting belts run beneath the transporting planes of the conveying path (1) and are fitted on the carrying side, in certain sections, with bearing strips (14) which, as the transporting belts (2a, b and c) circulate, can be moved upward out of the transporting planes of the conveying path (1), the bearing strips gripping beneath a load carrier (3), which is positioned above the transporting belts, at at least three bearing points.
