Abstract:
A system and method are disclosed for transmitting/receiving a signal in a communication system in which a first communication system and a second communication system coexist, the second communication system being evolved from the first communication system and being capable of using a control signal and a broadcast signal used in the first communication system. The method of transmitting a signal includes the steps of transmitting a first message including common control information and frame control information for the first communication system in a first frame, transmitting a second message including common control information and frame control information for the second communication system in a second frame, and signaling location information of the transmitted second message in the second frame.
Abstract:
A method for supporting short latency data transmission in a mobile communication system is provided. A frame is divided into an uplink subframe and a downlink subframe. Each of the uplink and downlink subframes includes at least one zone for the short latency data transmission and each of the at least one zone includes a first channel for indicating data resource assignment, a second channel over which to transmit data, or a third channel for feedback signal reception. The method includes indicating a location and a size of the second channel using the first channel included in any one of the at least one zone by a transmitting end, transmitting data over the second channel, and receiving feedback information for the data, which has been transmitted over the second channel, over the third channel.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for performing Automatic Retransmission reQuest (ARQ) of a Relay Station (RS) in a wireless communication system using a relay scheme are provided. The method includes receiving data from a transmitter and transmitting the received data to one or more receivers; and receiving Acknowledgment (ACK)/Negative-Acknowledgment (NACK) information for the data received from the one or more receivers and transmitting the received ACK/NACK information to a Base Station (BS).
Abstract:
Apparatus and method for performing Automatic Retransmission reQuest (ARQ) in a wireless relay communication system are provided, which include performing ARQ with the base station (BS), transmitting data successfully received from the BS to mobile station (MS), and retransmitting corresponding data to the MS when a retransmission indication message is received from the BS. Since the relay station (RS) relays only the errorless data to the receiver, the reliability of the data received at the receiver can be enhanced. The load on the RS can be reduced because the transmitter controls the ARQ.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for negotiating a relay service function of a relay station (RS) in a multihop relay Broadcast Wireless Access (BWA) communication system are provided. The method includes transmitting a first message containing function information supportable by an RS to a serving station, confirming the RS supportable function using the first message received from the RS, transmitting a second message containing relay service function information to be performed by the RS to the RS, and executing the relay service according to the RS service information of the second message.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method and system for performing a sleep mode operation in a wireless communication system. If there is a need to set a sleep interval of a receiver, a transmitter selects the sleep interval setting indicator for controlling sleep interval parameter setting, and transmits the selected sleep interval setting indicator to the receiver. A receiver receives from the transmitter a sleep interval setting indicator for controlling sleep interval parameter setting, and sets a sleep interval parameter according to the sleep interval setting indicator.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for selecting an RS using an RS preamble signal in a multi-hop relay BWA communication system are provided, in which a BS sends preamble channel allocation information to at least one RS, the at least one RS sends a preamble to an MS according to the preamble channel allocation information, the MS measures the signal strength level of the preamble received from the at least one RS and reports the signal strength level to the BS, and the BS selects an RS for providing a relay service to the MS according to the signal strength level.
Abstract:
Provided is an apparatus and method for constructing a neighbor node list in a cellular communication system. In the method, an MS acquires neighbor nodes through a scanning operation in an initial network entry procedure, inserts information about the acquired neighbor nodes into a predetermined message, and transmits the predetermined message to a serving station. The serving station updates a periodically-broadcast neighbor list using the information about the neighbor nodes. The MS does not discard but provides the information about the acquired neighbor nodes to the serving station (BS or RS), thereby making it easy for the serving station to acquire information about neighbor BSs and RSs.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method of processing handover of a mobile relay station (MRS) in a cellular communication system using a multihop relay scheme is provided. The handover processing method includes transmitting, by the MRS, a handover request message containing child node information to a serving BS when handover is required; making, by the serving BS, an adjacent node list by collecting handover-related information from adjacent nodes to which the MRS is able to be handed over when the handover request message is received; transmitting, by the serving BS, a handover response message containing the adjacent node list to the MRS; and determining, by the MRS, a handover target node based on information contained in the handover response message and transmitting a handover indication message containing the target node to the serving BS. By suggesting the handover method of the MRS in the multihop relay system, it is possible to provide uninterrupted communication to the MRS and its child node in the service area of the MRS.
Abstract:
A framing method of fixing a training signal and a control channel for multi-link (direct link and relay link) synchronization in a multi-hop relay cellular network, and a transmitting/receiving apparatus for supporting the framing method. A base station (BS) transmits BS downlink (DL) subframe sequentially including a preamble, control information, and a DL burst to a relay station (RS) or a first mobile station (MS) connected to the BS by direct link. The RS transmits an RS DL subframe sequentially including a DL burst, a postamble, and control information to a second MS connected to the BS by relay link. Therefore, difficulties of initial synchronization, handoff, and cell search can be removed from MSs. Furthermore, multi-link bursts can be located between the preamble and the postamble by Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) or Frequency Division Multiplexing (FDM).
