    Abstract: A hollow glass body comprises a cylindrical main body portion having a first inside diameter, and a first end opening and a second end opening on opposite ends of the hollow glass body. The hollow glass body has a second inside diameter at the second end opening. The second inside diameter is smaller than the first inside diameter. A difference between the first inside diameter and the second inside diameter is at most 100 μm.

    Abstract: A support catheter is used together with a guiding catheter in which a treatment catheter is inserted, the guiding catheter guiding the treatment catheter in a blood vessel, the support catheter being inserted in the guiding catheter from a proximal-side opening of the guiding catheter and having such a length that the support catheter protrudes from a distal-side opening of the guiding catheter, the support catheter guiding a distal end portion of the treatment catheter to a treatment site. The support catheter includes: a distal shaft forming a distal-side portion of the support catheter, the distal shaft having a tubular shape such that the treatment catheter is insertable in the distal shaft; and a proximal shaft forming a proximal-side portion of the support catheter. The proximal shaft is joined to a proximal-side portion of the distal shaft by a modified polyolefin-based adhesive.

    Abstract: Provided is a method for preventing postoperative adhesion of an organ in a wound site using the application of an antiadhesive material thereto. The antiadhesive material contains a poly-γ-glutamic acid having a weight-average molecular weight of 600,000 to 13,000,000, or a kinematic viscosity at 37° C. of 2 cSt to 15 cSt when dissolved in distilled water at a concentration of 0.05% by mass and/or a salt thereof, as an effective ingredient. The antiadhesive material may be in a form such as powder, and therefore, for example, is easy to handle even in relatively localized surgery such as endoscopic surgery and can more reliably prevent adhesion.

    Abstract: Provided is a tube set which is capable of easily determining whether a holder has been mounted when the holder is mounted on a housing. The tube set, which is provided in a tube pump that feeds a liquid, includes a pump tube and a holder. The holder has a flexible flat plate and includes first engagement portion and second engagement portions that arc located away from each other in a first direction. The first engagement portion and second engagement portions are configured to be fitted into first engagement groove and second engagement grooves formed in the housing, respectively, when the holder is pushed into the housing in a state of being bent in a thickness direction. The holder is elastically restored to be attached to the housing when the first engagement portion and the second engagement portions are fitted into the respective first engagement groove and the second engagement grooves, respectively. The holder has a flexural modulus of 500 MPa or more and 3500 MPa or less.

According to this technique, rigidity, pushability, torque transmission performance, and kink resistance of the catheter can be ensured while the thickness of the catheter is kept small.

    Abstract: A myoelectric sensor for detecting myoelectric signals which accompany body movement includes: a wearing band that is elastic, expandable, and circular, and that is worn around a limb to surround the limb tightly; myoelectric detection units a plurality of which are disposed in the circumferential direction on the wearing band with intervals therebetween so as to cause each of a plurality of myoelectric detection electrodes to be in close contact with the surface of the limb, and which detect myoelectric signals from corresponding positions on the limb using the myoelectric detection electrodes; and connection cables that electrically connect mutually adjacent myoelectric detection units and thereby transmit the myoelectric signals. The connection cables each include a bent portion, the bent shape of which changes in response to changes in the distance between the mutually adjacent myoelectric detection units.
