Abstract: Method, apparatus, and computer program product for a user equipment to receive a downlink control information message from an access point in a wireless communications network and to echo a new beam index in the PUCCH feedback resource in response to the message indicating a PUCCH feedback resource and containing a beam change indication or in response to the message indicating a downlink grant containing a beam change indication MAC control element but no CSI-feedback is scheduled for the PUCCH feedback resource. If a scheduling request resource is indicated by the message or the MAC control element, the user equipment is triggered to transmit a scheduling request on that indicated scheduling request resource. If a scheduling request resource is not indicated by the message or the MAC control element, the user equipment is triggered to perform a scheduling request procedure on a periodic scheduling request resource.

Abstract: Example embodiments of the present disclosure relate to beam failure recovery mechanism. According to embodiments of the present disclosure, there are provided an improved solution for reporting candidate beams in serving cells. If a beam failure occurs in a serving cell, the first device determines a candidate beam for beam failure recovery from a plurality of beams in the serving cell based on link qualities of the plurality of beams. The first device also determines a resource configuration for a random access for the beam failure recovery for the first device or a resource to be used for the random access, The first device further generates an indication for indicating a characteristic of the candidate beam or a characteristic of a beam for performing the random access, based on at least one of the determined resource configuration or the determined resource. The first device also transmits an identity of the candidate beam and the indication to a second device. The second device performs the beam failure recovery based on the candidate beam and the characteristic of the candidate beam.

Such measures exemplarily comprise that a beam management timer is started when a (first) beam management instance indication from a lower layer is obtained, beam management is executed, wherein a beam management instance counter is incremented whenever a beam management instance indication from the lower layer is obtained and a beam management event is detected when the beam management instance counter reaches a beam management instance threshold before expiry of the beam management timer, and the beam management instance counter is reset upon expiry of the beam management timer.

If a time domain collision between TRS symbols and dynamically or semi-static (e.g., persistent) downlink shared data channel transmissions is detected, transmission and/or reception of the TRS and/or the downlink shared data channel may be adjusted.
