Abstract: An apparatus for wireless communication includes a receiver and a transmitter. The transmitter is configured to transmit of a transport block (TB) via a sidelink that is associated with a wireless communication protocol. The wireless communication protocol specifies that a first transport block size (TBS) associated with the TB is based on a first set of parameters. The transmitter is further configured to transmit sidelink control information (SCI) associated with the TB via the sidelink, and the SCI includes a TBS adjustment value associated with the first TBS.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to assisting communications with low data payloads with relay nodes. An example method generally includes forming a first cluster with a first wireless node and one or more second wireless nodes, wherein each of the second wireless nodes has a low data rate demand relative to a system bandwidth. The method also includes determining to serve as a relay node for the first cluster, generating a first set of packets for uplink transmission to a base station, receiving a second set of packets from the one or more second wireless nodes, combining the first set of packets and the second set of packets into an uplink payload based on the determination, and transmitting, to the base station, the uplink payload based on the determination.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may configure a user equipment (UE) with a multiple listen-before-talk (LBT) bandwidths, where each LBT bandwidth is associated with one or more downlink control channel candidates of a search space for a control resource set. The UE may monitor the LBT bandwidths during a wakeup signal period for a wakeup signal from the base station. The UE may be configured with a total number of blind hypotheses in the set of blind hypotheses which is equal to or greater than a total number of LBT bandwidths. The UE may determine whether to wake up and monitor an on duration of a discontinuous reception cycle based on detection of the wakeup signal.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A relay node may receive, from a source node, control signaling configuring the relay node to receive a transport block via a first air interface and to forward the transport block to a target node via a second air interface that is different than the first air interface. In some cases, each of the first air interface and the second air interface may support a same size transport block. The relay node may receive, from the source node via the first air interface, a first message including the transport block in a format of the first air interface based on the control signaling. The relay node may transmit, via the second air interface to the target node, a second message including the transport block and an indication that the transport block is in the format of the first air interface.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for determining a helper UE group to facilitate communications with a target using sidelinks. A helper UE may determine a sidelink channel correlation with at least one other UE, report to a base station channel diversity information, UE state information, UE traffic pattern information, sidelink channel measurements, and the determined sidelink channel correlation; and receive an indication from the gNB if the UE is a member of a helper UE group. A base station may transmit a control message to at least one UE; receive a report comprising sidelink channel correlation information, sidelink channel diversity information, and UE state information, from each of the at least one UE, in response to transmitting the control message; and determine a helper UE group based on the received report.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive configuration information from a base station that indicates a set of resources for the UE to establish sidelink communications with another UE in a wireless network. The UE may transmit a first set of reference signals using a first set of beams to determine a set of neighboring candidate UEs for a sidelink connection. The UE may then transmit a second set of reference signals on a second set of beams to the neighboring candidate UEs, and may select a second UE located in the determined neighboring set using various beam scanning procedures. The UE may identify a transmit beam associated with the second UE, and may establish the sidelink connection using the identified transmit beam.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an efficient demodulation reference signal (DMRS) design to facilitate a user equipment (UE) in performing blind detection of a DMRS sequence to determine if a transmission includes data for the UE. Specifically, features of the present disclosure implement techniques that use DMRS design to facilitate blind detection of a DMRS sequence in order for the UE to determine whether a packet for the UE was transmitted during a particular SPS slot. By utilizing the techniques described herein, the base station may forego using PDCCH to provide new allocation information each time that a packet misses the assigned SPS slot.
