Abstract: A medium reservation framework is disclosed for coexistence of coordinated and uncoordinated wireless networks in licensed spectrum and shared spectrum. The proposed medium reservation framework organically takes into account operating regimes with different numbers of Tx/Rx antennas per node, provides flexibility in trading off medium contention aggressiveness and power saving, leverages the inherent synchronization nature of NR, and covers both coordinated and uncoordinated operation scenarios. Various aspects of the medium reservation framework may be centered on one or more combinations of some basic building blocks, such as an operation grid, synchronization signals, and reservation messages, such as a reservation request signal (RRQ) and one or more a reservation response signals (RRS).

Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to autonomous uplink transmission and autonomous downlink transmission in a shared spectrum are provided. A first wireless communication device identifies a transmission opportunity (TXOP) in a shared spectrum shared by a plurality of network operating entities. The first wireless communication device is associated with a first network operating entity of the plurality of network operating entities. The first wireless communication device a first frequency band of the shared spectrum designated for autonomous communication by the first network operating entity during the TXOP. The first wireless communication device communicates, with a second wireless communication device associated with the first network operating entity in the first frequency band, autonomous data during the TXOP.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A base station may transmit a configuration for enhanced paging to a UE being served by a cell over a shared frequency band. The enhanced paging may include multiple paging intervals for each paging cycle. The UE may enable reception for a paging interval and determine whether the UE receives a downlink transmission. The UE may lengthen a paging interval or enable reception during a second paging interval based in part on determining whether the UE receives a downlink transmission. In some examples, the UE may receive a paging queue status indication indicating that paging information will be transmitted during a paging interval or a later interval, or indicating that no paging information is present at a serving cell.

Abstract: A device may support communication without a radio link control (RLC) layer, which may include receiving a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) service data units (SDUs) for multiple radio bearers at a PDCP layer. The multiple radio bearers may have different reliability or delay targets, and a reordering procedure at the PDCP layer may be conducted on the different radio bearers. The reordering procedure may be a same reordering procedure for each of the radio bearers, with one or more parameters that may be adjusted based on one or both of the reliability target or delay target of the radio bearer.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for a system that supports wireless communication with a first set of devices using a first OFDM symbol duration associated with a first tone spacing (i.e., a first physical layer (PHY) configuration) and second set of devices using a PHY configuration associated with a second tone spacing. A base station may transmit a set of discovery reference signals (DRS) in a narrowband region of a primary channel of a carrier. The DRS may have the first PHY configuration and a secondary channel of the carrier may support communications using the second PHY configuration. The base station may transmit a first system information (SI) message for one set of devices using the first PHY configuration, and it may transmit a second SI message for another set of devices using the second PHY configuration.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to wireless communication systems configured to share a shared spectrum with one or more other systems (e.g., other operator networks utilizing the same radio access technology, and/or other networks utilizing different radio access technologies). Coexistence between the different systems on the shared spectrum may be provided by utilizing a technology-neutral signature waveform such as a signature sequence or discovery signal. The signature sequence may be used for resource reservation, scheduling, and coordination among disparate systems operating on a shared spectrum. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A base station may employ a multiplexing configuration based on latency and efficiency considerations. The base station may transmit a resource grant, a signal indicating the length of a downlink (DL) transmission time interval (TTI), and a signal indicating the length of a subsequent uplink (UL) TTI to one or more user equipment (UEs). The base station may dynamically select a new multiplexing configuration by, for example, setting the length of an UL TTI to zero or assigning multiple UEs resources in the same DL TTI. Latency may also be reduced by employing block feedback, such as block hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback. A UE may determine and transmit HARQ feedback for each transport block (TB) of a set of TBs, which may be based on a time duration of a downlink TTI.

Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to over-the-air uplink-downlink (UL-DL) reciprocity calibration. A central unit transmits downlink (DL) calibration reference signal (RS) and a calibration request. The central unit receives, in response to the calibration request, a first uplink (UL) calibration RS and a first DL channel estimate associated with a first transmission point (TP) and a first wireless communication device. The central unit transmits a DL coordinated multipoint (CoMP) joint transmission signal according to an uplink-downlink (UL-DL) reciprocity calibration. The UL-DL reciprocity calibration is based on at least a first UL channel estimate based on the first UL calibration RS, the first DL channel estimate, a second UL channel estimate associated with a second TP and the first wireless communication device, and a second DL channel estimate associated with the second TP and the first wireless communication device.
