Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for scheduling traffic between a transmitting device and a receiving device. A transmitting device negotiates with a receiving device to reserve a slot for communicating data with the receiving device and determines whether the transmitting device is a master or a slave with respect to the receiving device. If the transmitting device is the master, the transmitting device sends, at a beginning of the slot, a transmission priority (TxP) signal, wherein the TxP signal indicates that the transmitting device intends and has priority to transmit the data in the slot. The transmitting device then receives, from the receiving device, a clear-to-send (CTS) message in the slot based on the TxP signal, and transmits the data to the receiving device in the slot upon receiving the CTS message. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: The present aspects relate to device-to-device (D2D) relaying in a wireless communication system. In an aspect, a relay UE receive at least one message including a radio network temporary identifier (RNTI) of at least a remote UE and transmit, on a sidelink channel, a sidelink grant associated with the RNTI to the remote UE. In another aspect, a remote UE may receive an indication to establish a connection with a relay UE on a sidelink channel, establishing the connection with the relay UE on the sidelink channel, and receive, from the relay UE on the sidelink channel, a sidelink grant associated with a RNTI of the remote UE.

Abstract: Techniques are described for performing beam sweep procedures as part of a device discovery procedure. A communication device may receive a discovery preamble as part of a device discovery procedure. The discovery preamble may include information indicating that a discovery message will be transmitted. The communication device may determine whether to monitor for the discovery message of the device discovery procedure based at least in part on receiving the discovery preamble. The communication device may monitor for the discovery message based at least in part on the determination.

In an example, the present disclosure includes selecting, at a first device, a Random Access Channel (RACH) preamble identifier (ID) from a set of RACH preamble IDs based on a discovery procedure associated with a second device, wherein each RACH preamble ID from the set of RACH preamble IDs corresponds to at least one RACH preamble and is associated with the second device; and transmitting, from the first device, a RACH preamble associated with the selected RACH preamble ID to the second device.

Abstract: The disclosure relates in some aspects to sharing wireless communication resources. For example, a first type of device allocated to use a first resource pool may dynamically use a second resource pool allocated for a second type of device. The first type of device may use an entry criteria to determine whether to use the second resource pool. In some aspects, the entry criteria may specify that resource sharing is permitted if a ratio of resources used by devices of the second type (relative to the total resources in the second resource pool) is less than a threshold. In addition, the first type of device may use an exit criteria to determine whether to stop using the second resource pool. In some aspects, the exit criteria may specify that resource sharing should stop if a ratio of resources used by devices of the second type is greater than a threshold.

Abstract: Techniques are provided for supporting sidelink communication between multiple user equipment (UEs), and which may be implemented in various apparatuses, methods, and/or articles of manufacture. In certain aspects a first UE may establish a sidelink schedule with a second UE, wherein the sidelink schedule corresponds to at least a subset of communication resources indicated available to both the first and second UEs by one or more corresponding link availability schedules or the like. The two UEs may then establish a sidelink with the second UE in accordance with the sidelink schedule. Multiple sidelink schedules may be agreed upon in certain instances such that the UEs may dynamically switch from one schedule to another as desired.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. One method for wireless communication at a first device includes receiving a multicast packet from a second device, decoding control header information in the received multicast packet, determining that a decoding procedure associated with a payload of the received multicast packet is unsuccessful and transmitting a negative acknowledgement (NACK) based at least in part on the determining. The method also includes retrieving a list of transmitter identifiers. In some cases, transmitting the NACK is based at least in part on the list of transmitter identifiers. The method further includes determining a transmitter identifier associated with the multicast packet and determining that the transmitter identifier is present in the list of transmitter identifiers.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described that provide for priority-based carrier selection in a system using multiple component carriers (CCs). A mapping may be provided that maps different applications that may be present at a user equipment (UE) to one or more CCs. Each application may have an associated application priority, and each carrier associated with an application may also have an associated CC priority. A UE may select a subset of CCs for a transmission based on the mapping between an application providing a packet for the transmission and the priority associated with each CC. A UE, when receiving transmissions, may identify one or more applications running at the UE and use the mapping to determine a subset of CCs to monitor for transmissions.

In some aspects, a transmitter user equipment may determine a beam to be used to transmit a vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication to a receiver UE; may determine one or more eligible resource blocks of the beam that are candidates for the V2X communication based at least in part on a schedule associated with the beam; may transmit, to the receiver UE, a proposed schedule that indicates the one or more eligible resource blocks of the beam that are candidates for the V2X communication; and may transmit the V2X communication to the receiver UE via the beam based at least in part on transmitting the proposed schedule. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a message indicating that a base station supports allocating resources for sidelink communications using a first radio access technology (RAT) and a second RAT that is different from the first RAT. The UE may transmit a sidelink information message to the base station using the first RAT that indicates that sidelink communications are to be performed using either the second RAT or both the first RAT and the second RAT. The UE may receive a configuration message from the base station that comprises an identifier for the sidelink communications and an indication of available sidelink resources. The UE may transmit, based at least in part on the configuration message, a request for resources within the available sidelink resources, the request indicating the identifier and a buffer status report (BSR).
