    Abstract: One embodiment includes receiving distributed acoustic sensing (DAS) data for responses associated with seismic excitations in an area of interest. The area of interest includes a sea surface, the water column, a seafloor, and a subseafloor. The seismic excitations are generated by at least one seismic source in the area of interest. The responses are detected by at least one fiber optic sensing apparatus configured for DAS that is in the water column, on the seafloor, in a wellbore drilled through the seafloor and into the subseafloor, or any combination thereof. The embodiment includes determining a function of speed of sound in water using the DAS data, and correcting a digital seismic image associated with the area of interest using the function of speed of sound in water to generate a corrected digital seismic image.

    Abstract: A subterranean coring assembly can include a body having at least one wall that forms a cavity, wherein the cavity has a top end and a bottom end. The subterranean coring assembly can also include a first flow regulating device movably disposed within the cavity, where the first flow regulating device is configured to move from a first default position to a first position within the cavity based on first flow characteristics of fluid that flows into the top end of the cavity toward the bottom end of the cavity.

    Abstract: Disclosed are methods of using liquid polymer and inverse emulsion compositions comprising one or more hydrophobic liquids having a boiling point at least about 100° C.; one or more acrylamide-(co)polymers; one or more emulsifier surfactants; one or more inverting surfactants; and one or more stabilizing agents (e.g., one or more siloxane polyether compounds, one or more poly(alkyl)acrylate compounds, or any combination thereof). When the composition is inverted in an aqueous solution, it provides an inverted solution having a filter ratio using a 1.2 micron filter (FR1.2) of about 1.5 or less. The inverted solutions can be used in oil and gas operations.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for identifying patterns of symbols in standardized system diagrams are disclosed. Disclosed implementations obtain or synthetically generate a symbol recognition training data set including multiple training images, generate a symbol recognition model based on the symbol recognition training data set, obtain an image comprising a pattern of symbols, group symbols into process loops based on the logical relationships captured by process loop identification algorithm, apply a character classification model to image contours to identify the characters and group characters into tags via hierarchical clustering, and store the identified tags, symbols and identified process loops in a relational database.
