Abstract: The present technology addresses the need in the art for an improved technology to display search query results in a space constrained area. The technology pertains to truncating search results in a way that a set of characters used in a search string remains displayed in the search results while other aspects of the search results are truncated.

Abstract: A preferred method of acquiring virtual or augmented reality (VAR) scenes can include at a plurality of locations of interest, providing one or more users with a predetermined pattern for image acquisition with an image capture device and for each of the one or more users, in response to a user input, acquiring at least one image at the location of interest. The method of the preferred embodiment can also include for each of the one or more users, in response to the acquisition of at least one image, providing the user with feedback to ensure a complete acquisition of the virtual or augmented reality scene; and receiving at a remote database, from each of the one or more users, one or more VAR scenes. One variation of the method of the preferred embodiment can include providing game mechanics to promote proper image acquisition and promote competition between users.

Abstract: Techniques for proactively sending hosted content items to user computing devices. In one embodiment, for example, a method includes collecting access event data representing a plurality of access events pertaining to a content item hosted with an online content management service; based on the access event data indicating that the content item is accessed at a plurality of user computing devices, determining a cross-device access signal for the content item; collecting additional access event data representing a third access event pertaining to the content item; and based on the additional access event data satisfying the cross-device access signal, sending at least a portion of the content item to a user computing device of the plurality of user computing devices.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and non-transitory computer readable media for dynamically selecting and sending content items to a user device based on various network and device conditions are provided. In some embodiments, a listing of images stored within a user account on a content management system may be generated, and a selection probability value may be assigned to each image within the listing. An available capacity level on the user device may be determined, and images may be dynamically selected to be sent to the user device based on the determined available capacity level and each image's selection probability value. In some embodiments, each image's selection probability value may be based on one or more factors. For example, images that have been recently viewed, recently added to a collection of images, and/or shared within a shared virtual space created by the user, may receive higher selection probability values than other images. In some embodiments, the selected images may be ranked in order of priority for transmission to the user device and sent to the user device in order of rank.

Abstract: A multi-user search system with methodology for personalized search query autocomplete. In one embodiment, for example, a computer-implemented method includes: receiving a search query having an incomplete token; generating an index key that is composed of both (a) an identifier of a document namespace that a user account associated with the search query is authorized to access, and (b) the incomplete token; accessing an index dictionary with the index key to identify a plurality of index tokens, each index token of the plurality of index tokens having the identifier of the document namespace as part of the index token and having the incomplete token as a token portion of the index token or as a prefix of the token portion of the index token; iterating over the plurality of index tokens until a stop condition is reached; and returning an answer to the search query based on the iterating.

Abstract: The disclosed technology provides for sharing of collections between teams from external entities. The present technology allows administrators of an entity to manage what teams from their entity can be exposed outside of the entity and to manage how their entity is viewed by external partners. Sharing between teams provides benefits of easier sharing whereby it is not necessary to share a collection individually with all users of a team. It also provides a more logical sharing paradigm where collaboration is otherwise thought of between two partner entities and not specific employees of those entities. Sharing between teams allows an administrator to manage the user accounts associated with the team so that as team members come and go, all current team members will have access to projects in which the team is involved. Additionally, established teams can be configured to enjoy the full collaborative benefits of the content management system.

Abstract: A content management system and a collaborative content system implement interoperability features that allow a user to perform certain interactions with a collaborative content item via the interface of the content management system. For instance, the collaborative content system can outsource access permissions for the collaborative content item to the content management system. When the collaborative content system receives a user's request to access the collaborative content item, the collaborative content system requests permissions data for the collaborative content item from the content management system and then determines based on the permissions data whether to grant access to the user. The content management system can also outsource the account storage capacity for the collaborative content item to the collaborative content system. As a result, a collaborative content item that is stored in association with a user account on the content management system is not counted against the user account's storage capacity.

Abstract: One or more embodiments allow a user to search a gallery of digital content. In particular, a user can interact with a digital content system to search for, and identify, one or more digital content items (e.g., photos, videos, audio) within a collection of digital content. For instance, the digital content system can maintain tokens with respect to a collection of digital content and associate the tokens with digital content items within the collection of digital content. The digital content system can also provide a gallery of digital content items within a view area of a graphical user interface. Upon receiving a search query, the digital content system can identify a token and identify digital content items corresponding to the token. The digital content system can further provide a new or modified gallery within the view area of the graphical user interface based on the identified digital content items.

Abstract: A system, method, and computer program for enabling a user to edit and access local and remote objects via a virtual drive, including objects synchronized to a plurality of Synchronization clients. A virtual drive is displayed on the user's local client device with all objects, which a user has synchronized to a synchronization server. A user is able to access and edit any object displayed in the virtual drive. In response to detecting a change in an object in the virtual drive, the object is updated on the synchronization server. All remote clients of the user or of any other users who have access to the changed folder are identified and notified of the change. In response to the change being a change to content within the folder, the content of the folder is automatically updated on any identified remote clients that have a corresponding folder.

Abstract: In some embodiments, a client application at a client device can receive, from a browser application at the client device, a first message including a unique identifier associated with a session of the browser application at a website associated with a content management system. The client application can extract the unique identifier from the first message, and establish a connection between the client application and the content management system by sending, from the client application to the content management system, a second message including the unique identifier. The client application can then receive, from the content management system through the connection, a third message relayed by the content management system from the website, where the third message is associated with the unique identifier.
