Abstract: A current set of user-selectable choices is associated with a displayed graphical input device, which is used to select a value of an input parameter. Each user-selectable choice has at least one pair of information fields separated by a delimiter and each information field comprises sequentially ordered characters. A search for a matching entry to assign to the input parameter is carried out as the user enters each of a sequence of characters, and if a match is not found in a first information field, then (or simultaneously) it is sought in a different information field, also on the basis of the character-by-character user entries.

Abstract: Meeting attendees can have the resources available to participate in an efficient meeting regardless of where the attendees are located (e.g., across from each other or thousands of miles apart). Information can be gathered that relates to the attendees, the subject matter of the meeting or other information. In addition, relationships between attendees, if any, can be determined and displayed to the attendees to show the interrelatedness of the group. Various aspects during the meeting can also be observed and analyzed to allow the attendees to become more aware of the dynamics between individuals as well as the entire team.

Abstract: As incoming communications are received, a priority or significance level can be assigned to each communication. A communication determined to have a high priority can be presented to a user at substantially the same time as receiving the communication. A communication having a low priority can be placed in a low priority folder or flagged differently from a high priority communication (e.g., different color-coding). Behavior of a user as it relates to a received communication can be observed for learning purposes or to modify one or more classifications or priority levels.

Abstract: An ice cube machine that generates ice cubes having an alcohol content of at least 2-5%. The ice cube machine operates at temperatures of no greater than 0° F., and typically at least 0° F. or colder. An ice dispensing system monitors the amount of ice cubes dispensed from the machine and can determine the amount of alcohol dispensed from the system.

Abstract: One or more parameters, such as time, are reported to a center using a form. The center then automatically extracts data from the form and converts it for storage and subsequent processing or review. The form is preferably a tangible form, which the sender completes, and then faxes or emails to the center. Image capture, registration, and feature recognition routines are included to enable the center to extract the reported data with no need for data reentry or human intervention. The invention is particularly suitable for remote employees who need to submit time sheets, expense reports, and the like to an employer, or for automatic analysis of submitted inventory reports, product orders, etc.

Abstract: A peer-to-peer communication system that transmits application data from an application component on one network peer to an application component on another network peer. A programming interface is provided to the communication system to facilitate programming of applications that rely on peer-to-peer communications. The communication system uses messaging providers to which each peer may be connected for purposes other than communications between peer-to-peer application components, thereby reducing the resources a peer-to-peer application requires for communication and making the system advantageous for use in portable electronic devices. Additionally, the communication system uses addresses already assigned in each messaging provider, allowing peer-to-peer communication between peers that may otherwise have been non-addressable.
