Abstract:
A packaging method and apparatus are disclosed in which a substantially horizontal bed is loaded with a series of independent magazines. Each of the magazines supports a plurality of open trays which are loaded with the desired contents. The magazines are moved along the bed to a vacuum chamber where a cover film is applied and the magazines are independently supported. The vacuum chamber is then closed to allow for evacuation and sealing of the covered trays and the magazines supporting the finished packages are removed from the vacuum chamber.
Abstract:
A neck pillow. The neck pillow has an annular padded body with a central aperture adapted to receive and encircle an individual's head and neck. The central aperture defines the interior circumference of the annular body. The annular body has a lower side configured to rest on the shoulders of the individual and an upper side configured to align with each side of the individual's jaw. The rear upper portion of the annular body is configured to align with the occipital portion of the individual's head, such that the head is cushioned and the neck and spine is aligned in a proper position.
Abstract:
Techniques for searching for products in an inventory of product are disclosed. The techniques receive data that specifies attributes of a product, search inventory of products to determine potential matches or closely related matches to at least some of the attributes of the products, generate messages based on the search of inventory to determine the potential matches, generate positional information associated with the messages and generate a set of informational depictions of the generated messages, with the informational depictions of the messages when rendered on a display device are rendered in juxtaposition with representations of the products according to the generated positional information.
Abstract:
Absorbable stents and absorbable stent coatings have been developed with improved properties. These devices preferably comprise biocompatible copolymers or homopolymers of 4-hydroxybutyrate, and optionally poly-L-lactic acid and other absorbable polymers and additives. Compositions of these materials can be used to make absorbable stents that provide advantageous radial strengths, resistance to recoil and creep, can be plastically expanded on a balloon catheter, and can be deployed rapidly in vivo. Stent coatings derived from these materials provide biocompatible, uniform coatings that are ductile, and can be expanded without the coating cracking and/or delaminating and can be used as a coating matrix for drug incorporation.
Abstract:
An interactive input system comprises an interactive surface; at least one proximity sensor in proximity with the interactive surface and generating output signifying user proximity to the interactive surface; and processing structure configured to process user input generated in response to user interaction with said interaction input system and output from the at least one proximity sensor, said processing structure controlling interactive input system operation based upon at least one of said user input and proximity sensor output.
Abstract:
An aircraft flight data monitoring and reporting system is provided. The system comprises: an onboard flight data recording and reporting unit; a zero-configuration service discoverer; a remote base station; a remote flight data monitoring storage and analysis unit; a wireless communication link; and a network, the wireless communication link and network for communications between the aircraft flight data monitoring and reporting system and each of the base station and the flight data monitoring storage and analysis unit, wherein the zero-configuration service discoverer facilitates auto-discovering between the flight data recording and reporting unit and the base station.
Abstract:
Credit associated with a cloud storage service is provided in response to acquisition of an offering. The cloud storage service allows storage of data over a network. The cloud storage service is accessed based on the credit.
Abstract:
Elastic fasteners for fastening, securing or otherwise holding objects together are disclosed. The elastic fasteners include a head, an elastic shaft, and a retainer clip. The retainer clip includes a slot having a width that is smaller than the diameter of the elastic shaft. The end of the elastic shaft may be pulled to thereby stretch the elastic shaft and to decrease its diameter, allowing the retainer clip to be installed on the elastic shaft by inserting the stretched elastic shaft into the slot of the retainer clip. After the retainer clip is installed on the stretched elastic shaft, the end of the elastic shaft may be released to unstretch the elastic shaft and increase its diameter, thereby engaging in the slot of the retainer clip.
Abstract:
This invention relates generally to the field of medicine and, more specifically, to methods for treating epithelial injury, in particular, due to ischemia, hypoxia, trauma, chemolytics or radiation exposure.
Abstract:
In this presentation, we study various aspects of rotary coupling and planetary gear. We also study various aspects of the wind turbines or wind mills. We optimize the performances of both a single wind turbine and a wind farm, collectively. We study the nozzles on the blades and all the variations and accessories for the operation of a nozzle. We also explore flow patterns around the blades, the mechanisms to get air or other gasses to the blades, the couplers for the electrical connections and the gas connections, and the gaps, holes, channels, conduits, or openings on the body or structure of a tower. We also present various mathematical models and formulations for optimizations.
