Abstract: Embodiments of a LP-WUR (low-power wake-up radio) wake-up packet acknowledgement procedure are generally described herein. A first wireless device encodes for transmission of a wake-up packet of a LP-WUR to a second wireless device, the wake-up packet to wake up a WLAN (wireless local area network) radio of the second wireless device. Upon decoding a response frame from the second wireless device received during a predefined time period: the first wireless device encodes for transmission of a data packet to the WLAN radio of the second wireless device. Upon failing to receive the response frame from the second wireless device during the predefined time period: the first wireless device encodes for retransmission of the wake-up packet to the second wireless device.

Abstract: Embodiments of a low-power wake-up radio (LP-WUR) are generally described herein. In some embodiments, a wireless device is set to a first state or a second state, wherein in the first state the wireless device is configured to receive wake-up (WU) packets, and wherein in the second state the wireless device is configured to not receive WU packets, wherein the wireless device comprises a WLAN radio and a low-power wake-up radio (LP-WUR). In some embodiments, the wireless device is configured to receive a wake-up packet, turn on the WLAN radio and turn off the LP-WUR. In some embodiments, the wireless device is configured to turn off the WLAN radio and turn on the LP-WUR for power conservation. In some embodiments, the wireless device turns off the WLAN radio and turns off the LP-WUR, and can periodically turn on the LP-WUR radio for extreme power saving.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer-readable media for classification of basic service sets (BSS) based on transmission opportunity holder addresses are disclosed. An apparatus of a high-efficiency (HE) station is disclosed comprising processing circuitry. The processing circuitry may be configured to if the frame is not classified as an intra basic service set (BSS) or inter BSS, and the frame comprises a transmission holder (TXOP) address: classify the frame as the inter-BSS frame, if the TXOP address matches a first stored TXOP address associated with a basic network allocation vector (NAV) and the first stored TXOP address is classified as an inter basic service set (BSS) frame, or classify the frame as an intra-BSS frame if the TXOP address matches a second stored TXOP address associated with a non-zero intra-BSS NAV.

Abstract: Computer readable media, methods, and apparatuses for flow control with acknowledgment feedback. An apparatus of a wireless device comprising: memory; and processing circuitry coupled to the memory is disclosed. The processing circuity may be configured to determine based on buffer capacity parameters of a station and a receive buffer state of the station at least one of a size, a modulation and coding scheme (MCS), a bandwidth of a subchannel, or a number of spatial streams (NSS) for a frame. The processing circuitry may be further configured to encode the frame based on the size, the MCS, the bandwidth of the subchannel, and the NSS. The processing circuitry may be further configured to configure the wireless device to transmit the frame in accordance with the size, the MCS, the bandwidth of the subchannel, the NSS, and one or both of orthogonal frequency division multiple-access (OFDMA) or multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO).

Abstract: Apparatus, computer readable medium, and method for generating and receiving signal fields in a high efficiency wireless local-area network (WLAN) are disclosed. A high-efficiency wireless local-area network (HEW) device including circuitry is disclosed. The circuitry may be configured to: receive a physical (PHY) header or media access control (MAC) header from a second HEW station, wherein the PHY header or MAC header comprises an indication of a spatial reuse opportunity and a defer duration; adjust one or more parameters to determine whether or not the wireless medium is in use; and determine whether to transmit within the spatial reuse opportunity based on the adjusted one or more parameters. The circuitry may be configured to adjust one or more parameters to determine whether or not the wireless medium is in use in where the parameters are signal detect (SD) threshold, a mid-packet detection (MPD) threshold, and an energy detection (ED) threshold.

Abstract: Computer readable media, methods, and apparatuses to determine whether to respond to a frame based on a network allocation vector. An apparatus of a station comprising memory and processing circuitry coupled to the memory is disclosed. The processing circuitry is configured to: decode a frame comprising a first duration and a first transmitter address, if the frame is a trigger frame or a multi-user request-to-send (MU-RTS) frame from a master station of a basic service set (BSS), respond to the trigger frame or the MU-RTS frame if the trigger frame or MU-RTS frame comprises a NAV indicator that indicates not to consider a network allocation vector (NAV). The indication may be an indication in a physical header or an indication in a media access control header.

An access point (AP) may include circuitry configured to determine a high-efficiency signal (HE-SIG) field for each of a plurality of sub-channels, wherein each HE-SIG field includes a common part and a sub-channel specific part. The circuitry may be further configured to transmit, in accordance with orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA), on each of the plurality of sub-channels, a corresponding HE-SIG field as a preamble to a physical layer convergence protocol (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU), wherein the sub-channel specific part of the corresponding HE-SIG field includes a resource map field that enables a HEW device to determine which portion of the PPDU to demodulate, and wherein the common portion includes information of a format of the PPDU. A HEW device may include circuitry configured to demodulate a PPDU based on a HE-SIG field.
