Abstract: When a beam failure is detected, appropriate actions may be taken to recover the connection. A beam failure recovery request may be sent by a user equipment (UE) apparatus to initiate the recovery of the connection. The UE detects a beam failure for at least one active downlink and uplink beam pair for full duplex communication with a secondary cell (SCell). The UE transmits a beam failure recovery request (BFRQ) for the SCell to a base station using an uplink resource of the SCell or a primary cell (PCell) based on a layer 1 signal to interference and noise ratio (L1-SINR) measurement for the at least one active downlink and uplink beam pair of the SCell.

Abstract: Aspects relate to techniques for mitigating wireless communication interference. For example, one or more of a cyclic prefix length, a subcarrier spacing, a beam pair, or a frequency domain separation may be changed to mitigate the effects of inter-symbol interference (ISI) at a UE or a base station. A UE may measure a received timing difference between a time at which the UE receives a downlink transmission and a time at which energy from an uplink transmission by the UE is received by the UE. If this received timing difference exceeds a specified duration of time (e.g., the length of a cyclic prefix), the ISI at the UE may increase. In some examples, the interference mitigation techniques described herein may be invoked if there is an increase in the measured received timing difference.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first user equipment (UE) may communicate with a network node via a first wireless link using a first beam according to a first beam configuration. In some examples, the first UE may transmit to the network node via a second wireless link with a second UE, a beam failure recovery (BFR) message in response to identifying a beam failure for the first beam. As such, the UE may receive, a message indicating a second beam configuration. For example, the network node transmit to the first UE via a third wireless link, the second beam configuration including a second beam for the first UE to use to communicate. Additionally, or alternatively, the network node may transmit to the second UE, a signal indicating for the second UE to relay traffic between the network node and the first UE.

Abstract: Aspects relate to selecting a physical cell identifier (PCI) that a user equipment (UE) uses to obtain a timing reference for a mobility measurement. A serving base station (BS) associated with multiple cells may select a set of these cells as candidate cells for a UE and send to the UE a set of candidate PCIs associated with those cells (e.g., one PCI for each cell). The BS may select a subset of the candidate cells to serve to the UE and indicate to the UE the corresponding subset of PCIs. The UE may select a PCI from the set of candidate PCIs (or from the subset of PCIs) to use for obtaining a timing reference for a synchronization signal block (SSB) measurement. The UE may select a PCI based on a defined rule. The UE may select a PCI based on signaling from the BS.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) or a base station may be configured to indicate that a transmission occasion is empty while operating in a full-duplex mode. In some examples, the UE may transmit, to the base station, an indication that an uplink transmission occasion (for example, a configured grant transmission occasion) will not be used by the UE for transmitting an uplink communication. In some other examples, the base station may transmit, to the UE, an indication a downlink transmission occasion (for example, semi-persistent scheduling transmission occasion) will not be used by the base station for transmitting a downlink communication. If uplink or downlink transmission occasions are empty, the UE and the base station may each update parameters to operate in a half-duplex mode.
