摘要: Link speed fluctuation reduction can be useful in a variety of communication systems. Such smoothing may have various benefits and may be achieved in various ways. For example, a policy and charging rules function can be leveraged to avoid repeated transfers of a same section of over-the-top video. A method can include detecting, for a link, a link traffic condition above a predetermined threshold. The method can also include estimating link speed to obtain an initial link speed value. When the detected link traffic condition is above a predetermined threshold, the method can further include limiting fluctuation of the link speed to within a threshold amount of the initial link speed value. The method can additionally include periodically re-estimating the recently achieved link speed as an updated link speed value and limiting the fluctuation based on the updated link speed value.

摘要: An estimated spread value is computed that represents a price at which a trader might have been able to buy or sell a spread given the current market conditions of the legs. In particular, when an event occurs in one of the legs, price information is gathered from each of the other legs based on the spread definition, in addition to the defined event, and is used in estimating the value of a spread. According to one feature, the computations may be triggered by any predefined event. According to another feature, the computation may be programmed by a user to tailor the estimation process according to the type of spread being traded. The estimated spread value may be used to analyze spreads, it may be fed to other trading related software tools, or it may be used in charting.

摘要: An article of clothing, body armor or garment having at least one limb-receiving sleeve includes a housing secured in encircling relation to the sleeve. A self-sustaining tourniquet is disposed within the housing. An opening is formed in the housing and a cover is provided to close the opening. The tourniquet is positioned fully within the housing when the cover is closed. The tourniquet is oriented in the housing so that a free end of the tourniquet is in registration with the opening. A handle is secured to the free end and is adapted to be grasped by a user when the cover is open. The diameter of the tourniquet is reduced when the handle is pulled upon. A ratchet and pawl structure prevents the tourniquet from loosening after the handle has been pulled.

摘要: An amplifier-based system having pulsed output includes an amplifier for amplifying a time varying voltage signal to produce an output voltage signal. A voltage-to-current (V-I) converter converts the output voltage signal into a current signal. An output stage including a current integrator integrates the current signal to generate an integrated voltage. An amplitude to time converter generates a pulse train from the integrated voltage, wherein a timing of the pulses in the pulse train represents the original time varying voltage signal. The pulse train representation permits transmission and accurate remote reconstruction of the original time varying voltage signal, such as signals generated by electrodes implanted inside a subject, including neural signals.

摘要: Apparatuses and a method are provided to prevent buckling damage to a disk drive flexure when the read/write heads are subjected to high stiction loads and when backward rotation of the disks occur. Excessive flexure displacements due to the buckling loads are prevented by transferring some of the force of the buckling load to the stronger, stiffer load beam. Buckling limiter features are provided on either the load beam or flexure, or on both the load beam and flexure wherein the force of the buckling load causes contact of a component on the flexure against a component on the load beam. The contact between the components causes some of the buckling load to be transferred to the load beam. Each of the preferred embodiments provide different structural components forming the buckling limiting features.
