Abstract: Among other things, in one aspect, we describe a system for assisting with cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). The system includes at least one sensor; and one or more processors configured for calculating a chest compliance relationship based on data received from the at least one sensor, and determining a neutral position of chest compression based at least in part on a feature of the chest compliance relationship. The system can take the form of an active compression-decompression device.

Abstract: Systems and methods related to the field of cardiac resuscitation, and in particular to devices for assisting rescuers in performing cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) are described herein. The system includes an applicator device configured to provide ACD CPR treatment to a patient's chest according to a plurality of phases at least one sensor configured to be coupled to the patient's chest and to measure at least one parameter related to the ACD CPR treatment and information for determining whether at least one transition point of the ACD CPR treatment has been reached; and one or more processors configured to provide a feedback signal based on a parameter for administering ACD CPR treatment to the patient's chest according to a desired treatment protocol.

Abstract: A system including a sensor interface coupled to a processor. The sensor interface is configured to receive and process an analog electrocardiogram signal of a subject and provide a digitized electrocardiogram signal sampled over a first time period and a second time period that is subsequent to the first time period. The processor is configured to receive the digitized electrocardiogram signal, to analyze a frequency domain transform of the digitized electrocardiogram signal sampled over the first and second time periods and determine first and second metrics indicative of metabolic state of a myocardium of the subject during the first and second time periods, respectively, to compare the first and second metrics to determine whether the metabolic state of the myocardium of the subject is improving, and to indicate administration of an intervention to the subject in response to a determination that the metabolic state is not improving.

Abstract: An electrode assembly includes a first surface to be placed adjacent a person's skin and a second surface including a plurality of reservoirs of conductive gel. The plurality of reservoirs of conductive gel are disposed on sections of the electrode assembly that are at least partially physically separated and may move at least partially independently of one another to conform to contours of a body of a patient. The electrode assembly is configured to dispense an amount of the electrically conductive gel onto the first surface in response to an activation signal and to provide for a defibrillating shock to be applied to the patient through the amount of the electrically conductive gel.

Abstract: A medical device is disclosed. The device may include a service component for use in detecting patient data, at least one processor coupled with the service component, a care protocol module executable by the at least one processor to provide healthcare to a patient at least in part by generating a request for processing by the service component, and a resource module executable by the at least one processor to manage access to the service component by identifying a level of service associated with the care protocol module and responding to the request by managing the service component to meet the level of service. The care protocol module implements a patient care protocol that includes a sequence of actions directed to the patient. The level of service indicates a level of performance that the patient care protocol requires of the resource module. Selective offloading of modular functions is also enabled.
