摘要: A noise reduction system for an automotive vehicle powered at least in part by an electric motor located separately from the passenger compartment. The system includes at least one sensor which produces an output signal having a frequency, amplitude and phase representative of noise generated by the electric motor. At least one speaker is positioned closely adjacent the electric motor. A speaker output controller receives the output from the sensor as an input signal and generates an output signal to the speaker so that the speaker produces an audible signal having substantially the same frequency and amplitude but inverted in phase relative to the output from the sensor.

摘要: The present invention is a method of manufacturing a gallium nitride-based compound semiconductor, including growing an m-plane InGaN layer whose emission peak wavelength is not less than 500 nm by metalorganic chemical vapor deposition. Firstly, step (A) of heating a substrate in a reactor is performed. Then, step (B) of supplying into the reactor a gas which contains an In source gas, a Ga source gas, and a N source gas and growing an m-plane InGaN layer of an InxGa1-xN crystal on the substrate at a growth temperature from 700° C. to 775° C. is performed. In step (B), the growth rate of the m-plane InGaN layer is set in a range from 4.5 nm/min to 10 nm/min.

摘要: An electric potential difference detection method detects an electric potential difference between a surface of a sample and a probe of a cantilever in a scanning probe microscope. An AC voltage having a frequency that is ½ of a resonance frequency of the cantilever is applied between the sample and the cantilever, and a magnitude of an amplitude of vibration of the cantilever is detected. On the basis of the detection, a determination is made as to whether an electric potential difference exists or does not exist between the surface of the sample and the cantilever probe. A determination that an electric potential difference between the surface of the sample and the cantilever probe does not exist is made in a case where the cantilever is resonating and the detected magnitude of the amplitude of vibration of the cantilever is greater than a predetermined magnitude.

摘要: In the video processing device, a correction amount update determining unit determines whether to update a correction amount based on an input image obtained from an image input unit and when a cut point is detected or when the number of frames in a number of frames storing unit exceeds a fixed value, determines that update is required, and at this time, a correction amount obtaining unit obtains a new correction amount based on the input image. Then, if no cut point is detected, an amount of change of a correction amount in time is limited and the obtained result is recorded in a correction amount storing unit, and an image correcting unit conducts quality improving correction processing with respect to the input image based on a correction amount recorded in the correction amount storing unit and the image corrected is sent to an image output unit.

摘要: A suction muffler receives low-temperature refrigerant gas discharged into a hermetic container from a suction pipe by a gas catcher, and feeds the gas to a compressor. The lower end of an opening of the gas catcher is located at a position lower than the lower end of an orifice of the suction pipe so as to catch the refrigerant gas falling obliquely downward inside the hermetic container.
