Abstract: Security devices and associated methods have a housing, a camera with a field of view of a monitored area outside the housing, a microphone to sense audio from the monitored area, a speaker to generate sound audible to the monitored area, an illumination source to illuminate the monitored area, a communication module to communicate with a communication network, a motion sensor to detect motion within the monitored area, at least two removable battery casings, each configured via a release button to hold at least one battery within the housing, and a control circuit that, when the motion sensor detects motion, is operable to (a) activate the illumination source, (b) capture video and audio from the camera and the microphone, and (c) send the captured video and audio to a remote server via the communication module and the communication network.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for searching shared video footage from a plurality of neighborhoods in accordance with various embodiments of the present disclosure. In one embodiment, a method for searching video footage captured by audio/video (A/V) recording and communication devices located in a plurality of neighborhoods may include receiving, from a first client device, a share signal including first image data captured by a camera of a first A/V recording and communication device, the share signal including a command to share the first image data with a network of users; associating the first image data with at least one searchable identifier; receiving, from a second client device, at least one search input; matching the at least one search input with the at least one searchable identifier; and transmitting, to the second client device, the first image data associated with the at least one searchable identifier matched with the at least one search input.

Abstract: Video footage captured by A/V recording and communication devices may be readily uploaded to the cloud and shared with a requesting party, such as a law enforcement agency. When a request is received from a requesting party for video footage, a set of videos meeting the criteria specified by the requesting party may be determined. Consent requests may then be sent to users associated with each of the A/V recording and communication devices that recorded the videos meeting the criteria specified by the requesting party. When user consents to share the videos are received, the video footage may be provided to the requesting party.

Abstract: An audio/video (A/V) recording and communication doorbell, including a camera, a speaker, a microphone, a power manager, a battery, an AC/DC rectifier, and a DC/DC converter. The doorbell is configured for connection to an external AC power source through the AC/DC rectifier and the DC/DC converter. The power manager is configured to draw power, up to a threshold power, from the AC power source and to draw supplemental power from the battery such that the power drawn from the AC power source never exceeds the threshold power. The present A/V recording and communication doorbell can thus be connected to an existing household AC power supply and an existing doorbell signaling device without causing inadvertent sounding of the signaling device.

Abstract: First data representing geographic coordinates defining a proximity zone for access to an A/V recording and communication device may be received from a first client device associated with the A/V recording and communication device. Based at least in part on a graphical user interface being accessed within an application executing on the second client device, second data representing a location of the second client device may be received. A determination that the second client device is within the proximity zone may be made, and third data indicating that the A/V recording and communication device is accessible by the second client device may be transmitted to the second client device. A request for access to the A/V recording and communication device may be received from the second client device, and image data generated by the A/V recording and communication device may be obtained and transmitted to the second client device.
