Abstract: A data processing method by a data sending apparatus is described. The method includes receiving a data packet from a PDCP layer, where the data packet is used as an RLC SDU. The method further includes encapsulating the RLC SDU into at least one RLC PDU, where each RLC PDU includes a header and a payload. The payload carries data from a single RLC SDU. It can be learned that a transmit end no longer performs concatenation processing at the RLC layer on the data packet. In this way, concatenation processing at the transmit end is reduced, and processing complexity and processing latency are further reduced. In addition, processing at a receive end also becomes simpler and more efficient.

Abstract: Embodiments of this application provide a method and an apparatus for setting a symbol in a communications system that uses a plurality of subcarrier spacings. The method includes: obtaining, by a terminal, a length of a reference blank symbol, where the length of the reference blank symbol is associated with a first subcarrier spacing, and the first subcarrier spacing is a minimum subcarrier spacing in the plurality of subcarrier spacings; and setting, by the terminal based on the length of the reference blank symbol and time domain information of the reference blank symbol, a blank symbol for a subcarrier corresponding to a second subcarrier spacing in the plurality of subcarrier spacings. According to the method and apparatus for setting a symbol provided in the embodiments of this application, when setting, based on the length of the reference symbol, a blank symbol in a subframe corresponding to a subcarrier used by the terminal, the terminal may set one or more complete symbols as blank symbols. This avoids a case in which a symbol cannot work normally because a part of the symbol is set as a blank symbol, thereby improving spectral efficiency of the system.

Abstract: The application discloses a communication method, comprising: After a connection failure, a first user equipment sends a first indication message to a first network device through a communications interface (namely, a target interface) between terminal devices, so that the first network device proactively sends context information of the first user equipment to a second network device that serves a cell to which the first user equipment may be reconnected. In this way, when a connection failure occurs, the user equipment may instruct a source network device to push context information of the user equipment in advance, so that a network device serving the cell for reestablishment does not need to obtain the context information by sending a request for obtaining context information to the source network device during connection re-establishment. Therefore, a communication delay between network devices and signaling overheads on an X2 interface can be reduced to some extent.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide random access user equipment, including: a receiver, configured to receive a notification message sent by a base station, where the notification message is used to instruct the user equipment (UE) to execute a random access procedure; a processor, configured to determine, according to a configuration parameter in the notification message received by the receiver, a PRACH resource used to execute the random access procedure; and a transmitter, configured to send a random access code to the base station on the PRACH resource determined by the processor; where the receiver is configured to receive a random access response message sent by the base station. The embodiments of the present invention further provide a random access method. The present invention has an advantage that executing the random access procedure on an unlicensed spectrum can be implemented.
