Abstract:
Various embodiments include methods implemented on a mobile communication device for sharing network information among subscriptions when a first subscription is in a voice call and a second subscription is in an idle mode. The methods may include determining whether the first subscription and the second subscription share a network operator and are camped on a same base station. If so, the first subscription may receive network information from the base station and store the network information in a shared memory of the mobile communication device that can be accessed by the second subscription. The second subscription may then perform some idle mode operations using the network information stored in the shared memory.
Abstract:
Various embodiments leverage the typical manner in which a RAT selects a supported frequency band listed in its acquisition database and the standard communications with its network indicating the supported frequency bands to avoid potential coexistence events with one or more other RATs. In particular, various embodiments include methods for avoiding band interference between RATs operating on a multi-SIM communication device by identifying the frequency bands available to each of the RATs, comparing the identified frequency bands to determine whether any RAT's frequency bands will interfere with one or more other RAT's frequency bands, and in response to determining that there is a possibility of frequency band interference, removing those interfering frequency bands from that RAT's acquisition database. As a result, during standard communications, that RAT will report to its network that it supports only non-interfering frequency bands.
Abstract:
Various embodiments enable a multi-active mobile communication device to mitigate (manage) interference by a frequency band used by a first subscription with the frequency band used by a second subscription. The device processor may generate modified power measurements for one or more frequency bands of a first subscription and use the modified power measurement(s) to cause the first subscription to switch from the frequency band that interferes with the frequency band of the second subscription. The modified power measurement may be a decreased power measurement of the first frequency band and/or an increased power measurement of a second frequency band that does not interfere with the frequency band of the second subscription. As a result, various embodiments may mitigate or otherwise manage the impact of coexistence interference between the first and second subscriptions of a multi-active mobile communication device without limiting capabilities of the device or changes to the network.
Abstract:
A wireless communication device for thermal mitigation with multiple processors is described. The wireless communication device includes a first communications processor that processes a data call. The wireless communication device also includes a second communications processor coupled to the first communications processor. The first communications processor performs a thermal mitigation operation by sending instructions to the second communications processor when at least one thermal threshold is reached. The second communications processor receives and executes the instructions.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for policing traffic in communications systems are described herein. According to systems and methods herein, tokens are generated for a packet data network based on a peak transmission rate associated with the packet data network. Packets are selected for transmission over the packet data network based on availability of tokens.
