    Abstract: A communication network can include first network node and a second network node. One of the first network node and the second network node can be a master node, MN, and the other of the one of the first network node and the second network node can be a secondary node, SN. The first network node can communicate measurement gap configuration information with the second network node. The measurement gap configuration information comprises at least one of: an indication of a set of candidate measurement gap configurations; and an indication of a selected candidate measurement gap configuration of the set of candidate measurement gap configurations selected by the SN. Responsive to communicating the measurement gap configuration information, the first network node can communicate with a communication device using a measurement gap configuration based on the measurement gap configuration information.

    Abstract: A method for reporting idle measurement report for secondary cell addition is provided. The method includes: receiving, by a UE during a connection release, an idle measurement configuration indicating a set of neighboring frequencies distinct from a serving frequency; performing, by the UE, an idle measurement with each frequency of the set of neighboring frequencies; reselecting, by the UE, a new serving frequency for a new serving cell; receiving, by the UE, a request to provide an idle measurement report when the UE moves to a connected mode with the new serving cell on the new serving frequency; performing, by the UE based on a CA compatibility, a filtering operation on the set of neighboring frequencies to identify frequencies that are compatible with the new serving frequency; and sending, by the UE, the idle measurement report indicating the frequencies that are compatible with the new serving frequency.

    Abstract: This application provides a cell selection method, a cell reselection method, and a chip, to improve user experience. The cell selection method includes: A terminal device searches for a first candidate cell, and receives a system message of the first candidate cell, where the system message includes parameter information of the first candidate cell and bandwidth information of the first candidate cell, and the bandwidth information is used to indicate a bandwidth of the first candidate cell. The terminal device determines a cell selection reception level value Srxlev and a cell selection quality value Squal of the first candidate cell based on cell measurement values and the parameter information of the first candidate cell, and determines that Srxlev>0 and Squal>0. When the bandwidth of the first candidate cell is greater than a preset threshold, the terminal device camps on the first candidate cell.
