    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment may receive a communication that includes system information, wherein the system information includes information associated with identifying a set of resources that carry synchronization communications, wherein the set of resources is included in a set of potential resources on which synchronization communications can be carried; and perform, based at least in part on a rate matching rule, de-rate matching associated with receiving the system information, wherein the rate matching rule is a rule associated with performing de-rate matching with respect to the set of potential resources. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a downlink grant that does not include a downlink assignment index (DAI); determine a pre-defined bundle window, associated with ACK/NACK multiplexing or bundling, based at least in part on receiving the downlink grant that does not include the DAI; and transmit ACK/NACK feedback to acknowledge or negatively acknowledge one or more downlink communications received in the pre-defined bundle window. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive an uplink grant that includes multiple total downlink assignment indexes (DAIs) corresponding to multiple DAI groups associated with the UE, wherein each of the multiple DAI groups is associated with a different set of component carriers used by the UE for carrier aggregation; and transmit (ACK/NACK) feedback for the multiple DAI groups based at least in part on the multiple total DAIs included in the uplink grant. In some aspects, a base station may determine multiple total DAIs corresponding to multiple DAI groups associated with a UE, wherein each of the multiple DAI groups is associated with a different set of component carriers used by the UE for carrier aggregation; and transmit the multiple total DAIs to the UE in an uplink grant.     Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described a search space configuration. A set of physical resource blocks (PRBs) or resource element groups (REGs) may be configured over two or more modulation symbols. A control channel element (CCE), or fixed set of REGs, may be formed using REGs in one modulation symbol. A search space, or set of decoding candidates, may be configured for one user equipment (UE) or multiple UEs. Search spaces for different UEs may share some CCEs. A decoding candidate for a UE may occupy a set of CCEs; the UE may make decoding to attempts on the set of CCEs. A base station may transmit in a subset of decoding candidates configured for the UE. A demodulation reference signal (DMRS) may be transmitted when a decoding candidate is used, and DMRS may not be transmitted when a decoding candidate is not used.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. To encode a vector of bits using a polar code, an encoder may allocate information bits of the vector to polarized bit-channels associated with a channel (e.g., a set of unpolarized bit-channels) used for a transmission. In some cases, the polarized bit-channels may be partitioned into groups associated with different values of some associated reliability metric (s). The information bits may be allocated to the polarized bit-channels based on the reliability metrics of the different polarized bit-channels and the overall capacity of a transmission. That is, the bit locations of a transmission may depend on the reliability metrics of different polarized bit-channels and the overall capacity of the transmission. To facilitate puncturing, the overall capacity of the transmission may be adjusted and the unpolarized bit-channels may be partitioned into polarized bit-channels based on the adjusted capacity.

    Abstract: Decoding and encoding methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. One method may include receiving a codeword over a wireless channel, the codeword being encoded using a polar code, identifying a set of repeated bit locations in the received codeword, and identifying a set of bit locations of the polar code used for information bits for the encoding. The set of bit locations may be determined based at least in part on recursively partitioning bit-channels of the polar code for each stage of polarization and assigning portions of a number of the information bits to bit-channel partitions of each stage of polarization based on a mutual information transfer function of respective aggregate capacities of the bit-channel partitions. The method may also include decoding the received codeword according to the polar code to obtain an information bit vector at the set of bit locations, and other aspects and features.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A base station may select a two sets of reference signal resource elements (REs) for a symbol period, where each RE of the first set is contiguous to an RE of the second set. The base station may also identify resource element groups (REGs) for control signaling, where each REG covers one or more resource blocks (RBs). The base station may then perform interference cancellation, which may be based on an interference covariance matrix for each of the REGs. In some cases, the base station may coordinate with neighboring base stations (directly or through the core network) to ensure that the selected REGs do not partially overlap with reference signal transmissions or REGs of neighboring base stations.

    Abstract: Aspects herein describe increasing density of reference signal transmissions in wireless communications. A plurality of reference signal configurations, each indicating resource elements for one or more antenna ports over which reference signals for the one or more antenna ports are scheduled for transmission, can be received. An association configuration indicating an association between at least two antenna ports as having similar channel characteristics can also be received. A plurality of reference signals can be received in the resource elements corresponding to the at least two antenna ports as indicated in the at least two of the plurality of reference signal configurations, which can be used to perform a channel measurement of the similar channel characteristics of channels of the at least two antenna ports over at least a portion of the plurality of reference signals.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may transmit, and a user equipment (UE) may receive a group physical control channel signaling, which may configure grant uplink transmissions for a set of UEs including the receiving UE. The group physical control channel signaling may indicate allotted resources for configured grant uplink transmissions. The group physical control channel signaling may further indicate a group physical control channel which a UE may monitor for control messages. The UE may transmit a configured grant uplink transmission in accordance with the group physical control channel signaling. The base station may receive the configured grant uplink transmission and may determine a control message which it may transmit in the group physical control channel based on the configured grant uplink transmission. The UE may receive the control message, and may determine whether to retransmit a configured grant uplink transmission based thereon.
