Abstract:
A facsimile apparatus fully effectively utilizes a specific communication function in accordance with a transmission speed. A communication circuit controls the determination of a communication mode to determine a communication mode with a destination station and controls a reception operation and a transmission operation. The control of the determination of the communication mode includes a first control, a second control, a third control and a fourth control. In the first control, a communication mode with the destination station is determined based on registered information in a transmission speed dependent ECM registration circuit.
Abstract:
An object is to provide an image processing apparatus which can reduce power consumption during the power saving standby mode. The starting factor monitor unit and the power saving standby mode voltage control unit are driven with the USB bus power can be supplied during a shift to the power saving standby mode and the starting factor monitor unit and the power saving standby mode voltage control unit are driven by voltage from the main power supply when the USB bus power cannot be supplied during a shift to the power saving standby mode.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a color-file communicating facsimile apparatus that is capable of communicating non-document image files through a simple method. A FIF (Facsimile Information Field) is provided with bits indicating that a color file to be transmitted is an sYCC JPEG-encoded file in which the concept of resolution is absent and bits specifying the sYCC full-color mode. If these bits have been set, a transmitting side sets resolution information and image-width information to any values and a receiving side ignores resolution information and image-width information in the FIF and performs print-out using information that has been obtained from header information of the received JPEG file. If these bits have not been set, ordinary transmission, reception and print processing are carried out.
Abstract:
A multi-function apparatus having a wider variety of uses and easily employed when carrying a USB cable only without having a power source cord. The apparatus includes means for detecting a connection between the USB interface and the PC, means for detecting a connection to the power line, and control means for selecting a function depending on a detected state of the connection between the USB interface and PC and a detected state of the connection to the AC power line. All the functions in the multi-function apparatus are operable in a connected state of the AC power line to the AC power source, while even in an unconnected state of the AC power line to the AC power source, if the USB interface is connected to the PC, a possible operation is enabled using electric power of 5 V at 500 mA supplied from the PC.
Abstract:
A facsimile apparatus which is easy to use is provided. Control is performed so that a CPU (central processing unit) registers a sub-address signal and a communication specification so as to correspond to a memory box, selects start of ring-type multiple-address transmission, and selects transfer of ring-type multiple-address reception. When start of ring-type multiple-address transmission has been selected, transmitter information is added. When transferring ring-type multiple-address reception, transmitter information is not added.
Abstract:
A one-side or both-side transmission mode is properly automatically selected in accordance with an original, thereby enabling desired image communication of the user to be properly executed. A CPU discriminates whether effective image data is included on both sides of an original image read by a reading circuit or not. If at least one sheet of original in which the effective image data is included on both sides exists, a both-side transmission of the image data read from both sides of the original is executed, and in the other cases a one-side transmission of the image data read from the front side of the original is executed. When a compulsory front side reading mode is selected by the operation of an operation unit, even if at least one sheet of original in which the effective image data is included on both sides exists, only the front side of the original is read and the read image data is transmitted in the one-side mode.
Abstract:
In an image communication apparatus for communicating a color image with a distant apparatus according to the ITU-T recommendations upon line connection, an original image is read by a scanner unit, and the size of the read original image is identified. If the identified size of the original image is smaller than the page size defined by the ITU-U recommendation, image data is generated by reading the original image upon adding invalid data to the original image to make it have a main scanning length equal to the main scanning length of the minimum page size defined by the ITU-T recommendation in reading the original image through the scanner unit, and the image data is compressed by a JPEG compressing unit and transmitted. In this case, the valid image area of the compressed data is set in accordance with the size of the original image. This allows the receiving side to read only the valid image area, decode the valid image area, and reproduce the image.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a facsimile apparatus for providing a single/dual side mixture mode capable of transmitting and receiving original images including single/dual side mixture efficiently. Under control of a CPU 22, information indicating presence/absence of back side image information corresponding to transmission/reception image information is informed together with page number and image front/back information, by a post message signal transmitted from a transmitter to a receiver. If the image information read from a back side of an original is substantially entire-white, the transmitter omits transmission of back side image information having the entire-white. In this case, by informing information indicating absence of back side image information corresponding to front side image information from the transmitter to the receiver by the post message signal, single/dual side mixture image informations can be transmitted and received.
Abstract:
A communication method and a communication apparatus for smooth facsimile data transmission in both of facsimile communication via the Internet and facsimile communication without the Internet. In a case where facsimile communication via the Internet based on the ITU-T Recommendation T.38 is selected in a FAX 100 and data is transmitted to a FAX 108, the upper limit of communication speed is set to 14.4 kb/s, a T4 timer is set to 4 sec, and a T2 timer is set to 8 sec. On the other hand, in a case where facsimile communication only via a PSTN which is not based on the ITU-T Recommendation T.38 is selected in the FAX 100 and communication is performed to a FAX 110, the communication speed up to 33.6 kb/s without upper limit can be performed. Further, the T4 timer is set to 3 sec and T2 timer is set to 6 sec in conformity with the ITU-T Recommendation T.30.
Abstract:
This invention is to provide a communication apparatus capable of quickly performing facsimile communication through the Internet by dial-up connection. When facsimile communication through the Internet is executed from a station A to a station B by dial-up connection, the user at the station B is notified, from the station A using a PSTN, that communication through the Internet has been executed. When it is notified using the PSTN that communication through the Internet has been executed, the apparatus at the station B sets up connection to the Internet by dial-up connection to receive facsimile communication information through the Internet by POP.
