Abstract:
Various systems, methods, network pages, and programs embodied in a computer readable medium for automated content download and installation of an appropriate application on a client. In one embodiment, an installation system is provided that comprises a server coupled to a network and a network page maintained in the server and accessible by a client coupled to the network. The network page includes a link to a media element and a media actuator. The media actuator includes a link that provides for an execution of an installation plug-in to the client, the installation plug-in being adapted to perform an automated installation of an application in the client, the application being employed to render the media content.
Abstract:
An imaging device such as, for example, a printer, scanner, or copier is provided that includes a processor circuit having a processor and a memory and a number of physical components that perform at least one imaging function, the physical components being controllably coupled to the processor circuit. The memory includes an allocated portion of memory to accommodate the storage of a control system to be installed therein. A control system installer is stored in the memory and is executable by the processor. The control system installer includes logic that downloads the control system from a remote device via a network, and, logic that installs the control system in the allocated portion of the memory.
Abstract:
A method for agent-based operation of a robotic device. In the method, at least one condition is detected in various locations of a room with a plurality of sensors. In a plurality of agents associated with respective areas of the room, the plurality of agents being configured to control at least one condition in the respective associated areas, sensed data is received from at least one of the plurality of sensors. In addition, it is determined whether the received sensed data are outside of respective predetermined ranges, and information related to the sensed data in response to the sensed data being outside of the predetermined ranges is transmitted to the robotic device. In the robotic device, the information received from one or more of the plurality of agents is processed to determine whether components of a cooling system are to be manipulated to vary a characteristic of cooling fluid supplied to the various locations of the room.
Abstract:
A magnetic random access memory (MRAM) that includes an array of magnetic memory cells and a plurality of word and bit lines connecting columns and rows of the memory cells so that the memory cells are positioned at cross-points of the word and bit lines. Each memory cell has a magnetic reference layer and a magnetic data layer. Each magnetic reference layer and each magnetic data layer has a magnetization that is switchable between two states under the influence of a magnetic field and each reference layer has at a first temperature a coercivity that is lower than that of each data layer at the first temperature. The MRAM also includes a plurality of heating elements each proximate to a respective data layer. Each heating element provides in use for localized heating of the respective data layer to reduce the coercivity of the data layer so as to facilitate switching of the data layer.
Abstract:
Apparatus include a liquid container body defining a reservoir and having a vent aperture defined therethrough, and a quantity of expandable foam disposed within the aperture. The cured expandable foam can act as a vent plug to prevent liquid from leaking out of the container body through the aperture, while also allowing air or other such gases to pass through the aperture for venting of the reservoir. Methods include steps of installing a plug into a vent aperture defined through a liquid container body. The steps can consist of dispensing a quantity of expandable foam into the vent aperture.
Abstract:
A fluid containment structure includes a containment vessel having an interior fluid chamber for fluid containment. A flexible bag is disposed within the containment vessel; the bag is vented to the external atmosphere outside the containment vessel. A spring is coupled to the bag to hold the bag in a coiled state until a back-pressure within the fluid chamber exerts sufficient force to commence uncoiling the bag against the spring pressure, allowing air from the external atmosphere to enter the bag and enlarge an interior bag space which is sealed from the interior fluid chamber.
