    Abstract: A system and method for providing status information during a power-on self-test routine. The system includes a basic input output system operable to execute the power-on self-test routine and output the status of the power-on self-test routine. The system includes an externally visible indicator such as a server chassis identify LED. A controller is coupled to the basic input output system and the externally visible indicator. The controller is operable to receive the status from the basic input output system, and to control the externally visible indicator in response to the status received from the basic input output system.

    Abstract: A system including a network communication device, a storage device, and a controller is provided. The storage device stores first mappings between IP addresses and devices, and second mappings between software and devices. The controller obtains a connection log from the proxy server or the firewall device via the network communication device, uses the first mappings and the second mappings to analyze the connection log to determine one or more different connections between connections of devices on which first software is installed and connections of devices on which the first software is not installed, determines whether the first software functions normally on a first device blocking the different connections, and adds destination addresses of the different connections into a blocking list in response to the first software functioning normally on the first device, such that the proxy server or the firewall device blocks all connections towards the destination addresses.

    Abstract: A system and method for ensuring reliable network communication for a multi-node server is disclosed. The multi-node server includes a first node having a port operable to transmit data packets. A first internal switch has a downstream port coupled to the port of the first node, an interconnection port, and uplink ports coupled to the network. The uplink ports routes data packets from the first node to the network. A second internal switch has a downstream port, an interconnection port coupled to the interconnection port of the first internal switch, and an uplink port coupled to the network. On failure of network communication at the uplink ports of the first internal switch, data packets from the first node are routed through the interconnection ports and through the uplink port of the second internal switch to the network.

    Abstract: A cable holder for retaining cables in a system sled is disclosed. The cable holder includes a base bracket, a clip holder, a retention clip, and a releasable latch. The base bracket is couplable to the system sled. The clip holder is coupled to the base bracket via a hinge. The clip holder is configured to rotate relative to the base bracket, and around a rotational axis through the hinge between a first lowered position proximate to the system sled and a second raised position substantially distal from the system sled. The retention clip is coupled to the clip holder, and configured to retain a portion of the cables in the system sled. The releasable latch is operable to lock the clip holder into either the first lowered position or the second raised position.

    Abstract: An equipment assembly for cooling heat-generating electrical components is disclosed. The assembly includes a housing for containing a heat-generating electrical component. The housing includes an open end having a planar area. A closed-loop liquid cooling system includes a liquid coolant conduit in proximity to the heat-generating electrical component. The conduit allows circulation of a liquid coolant to extract heat from the heat-generating electrical component. A heat exchanger is fluidly coupled to the liquid coolant conduit to extract heat from circulated liquid coolant within the heat exchanger. The heat exchanger includes a shaped front facing the open end of the housing. The surface area of the shaped front is greater than the planar area of the open end. An air flow system propels ambient air through the shaped front of the heat exchanger.
