Abstract: A vertical pivoting gate operator for positioning a gate between an open position and a closed position is provided. The gate operator includes a motor drive assembly including a motor and a linkage assembly mechanically connecting a motor output to the gate such that in response to actuation of the motor, the linkage assembly transmits an opening force to positioning the gate toward the open position, and a closing force, for positioning the gate toward the closed position. A counterbalance assembly including a biasing member is operable to release stored energy against an input link to rotate a gate arm shaft so as to urge the gate toward the open position and to increase stored energy in response to rotation of the gate traveling toward the closed position to act against the gate as it approaches the closed position.

Abstract: An embodiment method for controlling a power tailgate system including a tailgate, a spindle drive, and a latch is provided. The method includes retracting the spindle drive when a closing signal of the tailgate is generated, stopping the spindle drive when a claw of the latch reaches a partially latched position as the tailgate is closed, and retracting the spindle drive while simultaneously performing latch cinching after the spindle drive is stopped, wherein performing the latch cinching comprises moving the claw of the latch from the partially latched position to a fully latched position.

Abstract: An apparatus comprises a base plate configured to be coupled to a door, the door configured to be positioned in an open position and a closed position; a closing mechanism coupled to the base plate and configured to be coupled to a hinge of the door and having an unprimed state and a primed state, the closing mechanism configured to be transitioned between the unprimed state and the primed state by a user; wherein in the unprimed state the closing mechanism is decoupled from operation of the door; and in the primed state the closing mechanism is configured to move the door into the closed position responsive to receipt of a signal, and the closing mechanism is configured to allow movement of the door between the open position and the closed position in absence of the signal.

Abstract: A door opener includes a driving device having a first transmission member driven by a motor. A push rod is connected to the first transmission member to move therewith. A pressing rod unit is pivotably coupled to the push rod and includes a coupling sleeve, first and second end pieces coupled to the coupling sleeve, and an adjusting screw rod in threading connection with the second end piece. The first end piece is coupled with a first pivotal member coupled with a door. An end of the adjusting screw rod is located outside of the coupling sleeve and is coupled with a second pivotal member pivotably connected to the push rod. When the adjusting screw rod rotates, the adjusting screw rod moves in an axial direction of the coupling sleeve to change a length of a portion of the adjusting screw rod outside of the coupling sleeve.

Abstract: An emergency door closing device that can be installed upon existing doors and hinges to automatically close doors in the response to smoke and fire. The improvements incorporated therein include a hinge cam pivot member that attaches to an existing hinge member of a door and produces a moment force about the existing hinge member allowing a reduced force necessary to pivot the door into a closed position. Further, a novel spring, cam, and lever system is incorporated to activate the moment force to close the door.
