Abstract: A filling and draining device for filling lubricant into and draining lubricant out of a housing (1), having a lubricant line (2, 21, 22) through which the lubricant passes into the housing (1), during filling, and through which the lubricant passes when the lubricant is drained from the housing (1). The housing (1) has a valve (6) through which the lubricant flows during filling and draining such that, for filling, the valve (6) adopts a first aperture width for the lubricant and, for draining, the valve (6) adopts a second aperture width for the lubricant.

The piston arrangement comprises a piston configured for reciprocal movement inside a cylinder having a cylinder wall, the piston having a piston head configured to face a first compartment with pressurized gas, a sealing arrangement comprising at least one sealing ring configured to be arranged to seal the piston to the cylinder wall and separating the first compartment from a second compartment, and a water channel extending from an interior of the piston to the sealing ring to provide water for lubricating the sealing ring. The piston head comprises a pumping element configured to be arranged to pressurize the water in the water channel by pressurised gas in the first compartment.

Abstract: An oil funnel for use in draining the oil from an automotive engine oil pan. The upper end of the oil funnel is selectively magnetically attached to the bottom of the oil pan around the drain plug thereof. The oil funnel has a semi-circular slot formed therein. A flexible tubular member, having an open outer end and a closed inner end, is positioned in the oil funnel inwardly of the slot. The user of the oil funnel may insert the user's thumb, index finger and perhaps the user's middle finger inwardly through the slot and into the interior of the tubular member whereby the user may remove the drain plug from the oil pan without coming into direct contact with the drain plug. The flexible tubular member prevents the draining oil from coming into contact with the user's hand.

The spacing elements are formed and configured such that, via different rotational positions relative to one another of adjacent discs, at least two different axial dimensions of the flow gap between adjacent discs may be set.

Abstract: An internal combustion engine includes a crankcase with a plurality of piston-cylinder arrangements and a valve head positioned above the crankcase at least in part containing a valve train. The internal combustion engine further includes a head cover coupled to the valve head and having a blowby outlet and a baffle positioned between the head cover and the crankcase and defining an oil passage internal to the baffle. Engine oil circulates through the oil passage of the baffle to transfer heat to blowby gas flowing from one or more of the plurality of piston-cylinder arrangements before exiting the valve head through the blowby outlet in the head cover.

Abstract: Various example embodiments relate to rotating coalescers. One embodiment includes a housing comprising a first housing section having a blowby gas inlet structured to receive crankcase blowby gases from a crankcase. The housing further comprises an oil outlet. The rotating coalescer includes an endcap and filter media. The filter media is arranged in a cylindrical shape and is coupled to and positioned between the first housing section and endcap. The filter media is structured to filter the crankcase blowby gases passing through the filter media by coalescing and separating oils and aerosols contained in the crankcase blowby gases. The rotating coalescer includes a hollow shaft extending through the housing and positioned radially inside of the filter media. The hollow shaft forms a blowby gas outlet structured to route filtered crankcase blowby gases out of the housing. The rotating coalescer further includes a drive mechanism operatively coupled to the hollow shaft.

Abstract: Rotating coalescer elements that maximize the radial-projected separation surface area in a given (rotating) cylindrical volume, where flow to be cleaned is passing axially upward or downward through a separating media of the rotating coalescer element. Various example package assemblies are provided with various types of rotating configurations including cylindrical coiled media packs, frustum coiled media packs, concentric cylinders, coiled metal or polymer films with and without perforations, and/or alternating layers of different materials. The described rotating coalescers may be driven by hydraulic turbine, electric motor, belt, gear or by mounting on rotating machine components, such as rotating engine shafts or connected components.
