    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may identify a hybrid scheduling configuration that includes a dynamic scheduling indication, a preconfiguration including initial scheduling parameters, and a set of preconfigured occasions for communicating data with a base station. The UE may monitor for the dynamic scheduling indication based on the initial scheduling parameters and the set of the preconfigured occasions. For instance, the UE may monitor for the dynamic scheduling indication during periodic occasions, monitor for the dynamic scheduling indication using a different periodicity, or monitor based on a time interval (e.g., a slot) during which both the preconfigured occasion and the dynamic scheduling indication occur. In any case, the UE may communicate with the base station after receiving the dynamic scheduling indication, where data may be transmitted to, or received from, the base station in accordance with the hybrid scheduling configuration.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. For example, a UE may determine a power control adjustment based on sidelink messages received from other UEs. The UE may transmit, to the other UEs, an indication of the power control adjustment to the other UEs. The other UEs may transmit additional sidelink messages in accordance with the power control adjustment, such that power levels of the additional sidelink message satisfy a threshold. A base station may indicate a power control adjustment to one or more UEs. For example, the base station may receive power control information associated with sidelink communications between a set of UEs. The base station may transmit an indication of a power adjustment parameter for a transmit power level for sidelink messages transmitted between two UEs of the set. The value of the power adjustment parameter may be based on the received power control information.

The apparatus receives, from a base station, random access configuration information. The random access configuration information comprising a plurality of random access configurations. The apparatus selects one of the plurality of random access configurations. The apparatus generates a first random access message having a preamble and a payload, based on the selected random access configuration. The apparatus transmits the first random access message to the base station to initiate a random access procedure.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that relate to a two-step random access procedure. Generally, the described techniques allow different configurations for a first message of a random access procedure depending on a connected-state of the user equipment (UE) performing the random access procedure. A base station may transmit configuration information to the UE and the UE may use the configuration information to determine resources, coding, block size, or other factors for transmitting the first message based on the radio resource control (RRC) connected state of the UE. The UE may then monitor for a random access response from the base station based on the first message from the UE.

    Abstract: An apparatus for wireless communication includes a transmitter configured to communicate with a base station based on a first uplink bandwidth part (BWP) that includes a first frequency subset and that further includes a second frequency subset. The apparatus further includes a receiver configured to receive, from the base station, one or more messages including a frequency hopping indicator that specifies whether a frequency hopping mode is enabled or disabled. The transmitter is further configured to transmit, to the base station, an uplink control channel transmission using both the first frequency subset and the second frequency subset based on the frequency hopping indicator specifying that the frequency hopping mode is enabled or using one of the first frequency subset or the second frequency subset based on the frequency hopping indicator specifying that the frequency hopping mode is disabled.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a first system information message including an indication of a resource configuration for a control resource set (CORESET) from a base station. The CORESET may include a common search space for a downlink control information (DCI) message that schedules a second system information message. The UE may identify a set of parameters from multiple sets of parameters for the CORESET based on the indication received in the first system information message and the UE being a first type of UE. The set of parameters may be different from a second set of parameters for the CORESET associated with a second type of UE different from the first type of UE. The UE may receive, in the CORESET according to the identified set of parameters, the DCI message scheduling the second system information message.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques provide for a user equipment (UE) to adjust a random access message that is transmitted to a base station in an asynchronous uplink transmission. The UE may use a constrained mapping of time and frequency resources for the random access message or transmit all portions of the message in a continuous transmission. The UE may also adjust the timing of the portions of the message. The base station may use a portion of the message, such as a preamble, to perform channel estimation for another portion of the message, such as a payload, to improve decoding of the transmitted message. Additionally, the UE may configure a waveform of the message to improve the continuous transmission of the message, for example by reducing interference between portions of the message.

    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, a random access channel (RACH) occasion (RO) configuration that includes information related to ordered preamble resources. The UE may generate a preamble resource index according to various parameters selected based on the RO configuration information that relates to the ordered preamble resources. The UE may generate an uplink RACH message that includes a preamble based at least in part on the preamble resource index and a payload associated with a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) resource unit (PRU) mapped to the preamble resource index. After decoding the uplink RACH message, the base station may send a response message including scrambled downlink control information (e.g., based on a scrambling identifier or payload information associated with the uplink RACH message). Numerous other aspects are provided.
