Abstract: A spatially sensitive augmented reality system for providing resuscitative feedback in a mixed reality environment to an acute care provider during occurrence of a cardiac event in a patient includes a wearable augmented reality device having at least one three-dimensional sensor, a visual display for viewing by the acute care provider, and at least one processor. The at least one processor is configured to receive and process three-dimensional information of a scene of the cardiac event; produce a three-dimensional representation of a field of view of the acute care provider based on the processed three-dimensional information; identify one or more physical objects associated with the cardiac event in the three-dimensional representation; generate at least one virtual three-dimensional object within the three-dimensional representation; and generate an image of the virtual three-dimensional object within the three-dimensional representation on the visual display.

Abstract: A computing device includes a memory configured to store instructions. The computing device also includes a processor to execute the instructions to perform operations that include providing an alternating electrical signal to a patient through at least a pair of electrodes, and determining transthoracic impedance of the patient from a measurement associated with the applied alternating electrical signal. Operations also include identifying, from the transthoracic impedance, a sequence of resistance values for controlling the discharge of a charge storage device located external to the patient, and controlling the discharge of the charge storage device using the identified sequence of resistance values.

Abstract: A system for managing care of a person receiving emergency cardiac assistance includes one or more capacitors arranged to deliver a defibrillating shock to a person; one or more electronic ports for receiving a plurality of signals from sensors for obtaining indications of an electrocardiogram (ECG) for the person; and a patient treatment module executable on one or more computer processors using code stored in non-transitory media and to provide a determination of a likelihood of success from delivering a future defibrillating shock to the person with the one or more capacitors, using a mathematical computation applied to a vector value defined by signals from at least two of the plurality of signals.

Abstract: A system for assisting a rescuer in performing cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on a patient includes: a proximity sensor configured to be positioned at a location corresponding to a location of a rescuer's hand when delivering compressions to a patient's chest, the proximity sensor configured to produce a signal indicative of the rescuer's hands being released from the patient's chest; a medical device operatively coupled with the proximity sensor and configured to provide resuscitative treatment to the patient; and a controller communicatively coupled with the medical device and the proximity sensor. The controller is configured to: determine, based upon the signal from the proximity sensor, if the rescuer's hands have been released from the patient's chest, and trigger an action by the medical device in response to a determination that the rescuer's hands have been released from the patient's chest.
