摘要: The present invention provides a solution to improve coverage and cell edge performance in a mobile user communication system is the use of fixed relays, which are pieces of infrastructure without a wired backhaul connection. The relays transmit or “relay” downlink messages between the base station (BS) and mobile stations (MSs) through a multi-hop communication. The present invention is a method and system for supporting a multiple user mobile broadband communication network that includes relay techniques suitable for user equipment in the downlink communication to the user equipment.

摘要: A system and method of DFT-S-OFDM modulation is provided that uses a set of frequency domain patterns. For a given transmitter, for a set of DFT-S-OFDM symbols, the frequency domain pattern changes according to a time domain hopping pattern. Advantageously, the time domain hopping patterns are defined to allow only a certain amount of overlap, for example for only one DFT-S-OFDM symbol, between any two time domain hopping patterns. This functions to reduce the effect of a collision, when two transmitters use the same frequency pattern, they will do so only for part of the overall transmission. Optionally, frequency domain spectral spreading is used in the transmitter. This can further reduce the PAPR. In the receiver, successive interference cancellation may be employed to reduce the effect of colliding transmissions.

摘要: Aspects of the present application provide methods and devices for time domain implementation of a single carrier waveform such as single carrier quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) DFT-s-OFDM and single carrier Offset QAM (OQAM). A time domain implementation allows flexible symbol lengths, lower implementation complexity as a large IDFT operation is not required in the time domain and support for variable cyclic prefix (CP) length. An OQAM implementation utilizes a pre-processing step to convert a K complex QAM symbol sequence into a 2K OQAM symbol sequence and generates a sequence for transmission in the time domain as opposed to the frequency domain.

摘要: A bit-level operation may be implemented prior to modulation and resource element (RE) mapping in order to generate a NoMA transmission using standard (QAM, QPSK, BPSK, etc.) modulators. In this way, the bit-level operation is exploited to achieve the benefits of NoMA (e.g., improved spectral efficiency, reduced overhead, etc.) at significantly less signal processing and hardware implementation complexity. The bit-level operation is specifically designed to produce an output bit-stream that is longer than the input bit-stream, and that includes output bit-values that are computed as a function of the input bit-values such that when the output bit-stream is subjected to modulation (e.g., m-ary QAM, QPSK, BPSK), the resulting symbols emulate a spreading operation that would otherwise have been generated from the input bit-stream, either by a NoMA-specific modulator or by a symbol-domain spreading operation.

摘要: Methods are disclosed herein for generating and using outer codes based on non-equal length code blocks. In one embodiment, the outer code has a length equal to the length of the longest code block. This can be achieved by padding shorter code blocks such that they are also of equal length to the longest code block. The padding may be a standardized pseudo-random pattern or a standardized repeating pattern. In another embodiment, the outer code has a length shorter than the length of the longest code block. If a code block is received in error it may be recovered by using one or more of: the first outer code block, information bits of other code blocks and the parity bits of the failed code block.

摘要: Communication resources for grant-free transmission are assigned to a User Equipment (UE) in a communication system. A diversity channel for uplink grant-free data transmission includes uplink grant free transmission resources assigned to the UE. The uplink grant-free transmission resources include one or more positions corresponding to partitions of an access region and one or more positions corresponding to resource elements (REs) in each partition of the access region. At a UE, an uplink initial data transmission and a subsequent transmission are transmitted by the UE in the diversity channel without receiving grant information from a network equipment. At a network equipment, the uplink initial data transmission and the subsequent transmission are received in the diversity channel without transmitting grant information to the UE.

Being able to use FDSS on both the reference sequence and data allows the FDSS to be transparent to the receiver. The method comprises obtaining a first sequence, wherein the first sequence is a base sequence of a set of base sequences, the set of base sequences comprising sub group base sequences, the first sequence obtained by cyclically repeating the sub group sequences at least once; and transmitting, by the device, a reference signal based on the first sequence.

摘要: Methods and devices are disclosed for decoding multiple sparsely encoded data sequences in a wireless communications network. A received signal carrying multiple sparsely encoded data sequences is decoded by selecting a first plurality of the data sequences and performing multi-user decoding on the received signal to decode the first plurality of data sequences. Other data sequences are treated as noise. The plurality of data sequences is selected to meet a collision threshold for the multi-user decoding. Data sequences may be selected based on a collision contribution and signal quality metrics. A modified received signal is generated to remove signals associated with the multiple sparsely encoded data sequences which have been successfully decoded. The method may be performed for additional iterations to select a new plurality of data sequences, and perform the multi-user decoding on the modified received signal to decode additional data sequences, until a stopping condition is met.

A first signal from a first device operating in spatial multiplexing transmission is concatenated with a second signal from a second device operating without spatial multiplexing transmission to generate a concatenated signal in a non-linearly superpositioned constellation, in which a portion of the constellation corresponding to the first signal is symmetrical about each of the real and imaginary axes. The concatenated signal is processed according to transmission processing of the second device, to generate a processed signal. The processed signal is transmitted.
