Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may identify multiple candidate sets of physical sidelink feedback channel (PSFCH) transmissions that include hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback for sidelink communications received from one or more peer UEs. The UE may select, from one or more of the multiple candidate sets that satisfy a PSFCH transmit power constraint, at least one candidate set that has a highest value for a utility parameter among utility parameters associated with each of the one or more candidate sets that satisfy a PSFCH transmit power constraint. The UE may transmit, on a PSFCH, the plurality of PSFCH transmissions included in the at least one candidate set in a HARQ feedback occasion. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications (e.g., vehicle to everything systems) are described relating to an adaptive design of demodulation reference signals (DMRS) density based on user equipment (UE) velocity. A UE may send assistance information to a transmitting UE to help identify a DMRS pattern based on the relative speed between the two UEs. Also, the transmitter may determine the adaptive DMRS pattern based on its speed without information of the receiver's speed. The transmitter may indicate the adaptive DMRS pattern in control information to the receiver. A base station may receive assistance information, and the base station may determine the adaptive DMRS pattern to be used by the transmitting UE based on the received assistance information and then indicate the adaptive DMRS pattern to the transmitting UE. A UE may determine an adaptive DMRS pattern to use based on feedback from the receiving UE.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit, in a plurality of directions using a plurality of transmit beams of the UE, a first set of sidelink messages to a plurality of UEs, each transmit beam of the plurality of transmit beams associated with a respective direction of the plurality of directions. The UE may receive, in one or more directions of the plurality of directions, a feedback message from one or more UEs that are a subset of the plurality of UEs, each feedback message indicating whether the sidelink message was received and decoded by a respective UE of the one or more UEs. The UE may transmit, based at least in part on the feedback message from the one or more UEs, a second set of sidelink messages in the one or more directions to the one or more UEs.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first user equipment (UE) may receive, from a second UE, a first control signal indicating a range value corresponding to a threshold distance for triggering feedback reporting from the first UE for transmissions from the second UE. The first UE may calculate a traversable distance corresponding to a traversable route between the first UE and the second UE, determine, based on the calculated traversable distance and the range value, whether the first UE is within the threshold distance for triggering feedback reporting, and perform, based on whether the first UE is within the threshold distance, a feedback procedure for the feedback reporting. The first UE may receive, from the second UE, a second control signal indicating a type of distance measurement corresponding to the threshold distance for triggering feedback reporting.

In some aspects, a transmitter device may segment a plurality of bits of a communication into a first set of bits and a second set of bits; process the first set of bits using a first processing chain and the second set of bits using a second processing chain, wherein the first set of bits is mapped to most significant bits (MSBs) of one or more symbols of a composite constellation and the second set of bits is mapped to least significant bits (LSBs) of the one or more symbols of the composite constellation, and wherein the composite constellation is formed from a plurality of lower order constellations; modulate the first set of bits and the second set of bits to generate a set of modulated symbols; and transmit the set of modulated symbols. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A cellular user equipment (C-UE) and vehicle UE (V-UE) may perform a discovery process. The C-UE and the V-UE may exchange identification and location information. One of the UEs may communicate the identification information of one or both of the UEs to a base station or a sidelink wireless device. The base station and the sidelink wireless device may be co-located. Based on the identification information of the C-UE and the V-UE, the base station may determine that the C-UE and the V-UE are co-located, and the base station may perform downlink transmissions based on the determined co-location.

Abstract: A method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus for wireless communication at a first user equipment (UE). A channel state information (CSI) report trigger can be received from a second UE, and a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) can be received from the second UE in a same slot as the CSI report trigger. A CSI report can be transmitted to the second UE based on the CSI-RS, the CSI report including information identifying the CSI-RS on which the CSI report is based. The UE that triggered the CSI report can determine the CSI-RS on which the CSI report is based using the information included in the CSI report.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may determine a default operating mode based on the geographic location (e.g., zone) of the base station, for user equipment (UEs) operating in that zone to use. The operating mode may be a full duplex (FD) operating mode or a half duplex (HD) operating mode. A UE operating in the zone may receive, from the base station, an indication of the default operating mode corresponding to the zone, and may select an operating mode based on the indication. The mode selected by the UE may be the same as or different than the indicated default operating mode. For example, the UE may determine to use either FD mode or HD mode based on operation parameters, interference measurements, signaling from a base station or other UEs, one or more measurement thresholds, or some combination thereof.

Abstract: Techniques described herein provide for identification of a mobile device that belongs to an observed pedestrian, by a vehicle. According to embodiments, a vehicle can receive a mobile device message including a first set of pedestrian-identifying features, and the vehicle can use vehicle sensor data to extract a second set of pedestrian-identifying features for an observed pedestrian. If the features match, the vehicle can determine that the observed pedestrian is in possession of the mobile device, and the vehicle can subsequently communicate with the mobile device as needed regarding the status of the pedestrian.
