    Abstract: A door set assembly for use with a door having a latch portion and a magnetized strike plate, comprising a top face, a bottom face, and a protrusion extending below said bottom face of said strike plate. The protrusion is formed by two side walls and a far wall extending from said top face of strike plate and a graded floor angled away from said top face of said strike plate, the combination of said walls and said floors forming a latch receiving channel, such that when the door is swung into the closed position the magnetized strike plate gradually actuates the latch of said latch portion along the entire length of said channel, from a fully retracted position to a fully extended position until said far wall of said strike plate channel holds the latch in place to keep the door in the closed position.

    Abstract: A sliding door assembly for a refrigerated display case is provided. The sliding door assembly includes a door frame having a top frame segment and a plurality of sliding bearings that slide along channels within the top frame segment. A plurality of display case doors are coupled to the sliding bearings and configured to slide, along with the sliding bearings, between an open position and a closed position. The display case doors may be suspended from the sliding bearings. The sliding door assembly may include an automatic closure system coupled to the display case doors and configured to apply a closing force that automatically returns the display case doors to the closed position. One or more magnets may apply a magnetic damping force as the display case doors approach the closed position to facilitate a soft closure of the display case doors.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a hinge including: a first hinge member including a first magnetic element; a second hinge member including a second magnetic element pivotally mounted to the first hinge member: a braking mechanism configured to hinder hinged motion of the hinge members; and a biasing mechanism to bias the first hinge member and the second hinge member toward a retained position. The first and second hinge members are substantially maintained in the retained position via magnetic force between the first and second magnetic elements. In certain embodiments, the first hinge member includes an angled overlapping portion and the second hinge member includes a dampening mechanism to slow hinged movement of the first hinge member relative to the second hinge member. The dampening mechanism is orientated substantially orthogonal to the angled overlapping portion which urges against the dampener when approaching the retained position.

    Abstract: A door system suitable for installation in data centers to limit airflow to and from aisles between rows of equipment cabinets has a door assembly with a door panel and a plurality of vertically spaced hinge assemblies having powerful permanent magnets manually movable between connected and disconnected positions, enabling the door assembly to be aligned and positioned on the side wall panel of an equipment cabinet and then removably mounted in place by engagement of the magnets. Each magnet can be mounted in a rotatable threaded magnet carriers received in a threaded recesses in the hinge assembly and rotation of the magnet carrier is operable to move the magnet into the connected and disconnected positions. The hinge assemblies also include registration tabs that engage slots in the cabinet for proper alignment and orientation of the door system.

    Abstract: A door opening/closing device for use in a vehicle is provided with a driving member. The driving member has a permanent-magnet motor provided with two terminals and an output member, which is rotationally driven by the permanent-magnet motor. The driving member is mounted on either a vehicle body or a vehicle door and is coupled to the other via the output member. As the output member rotates, the vehicle door opens or closes. The door opening/closing device is also provided with a switching device configured to switch the permanent-magnet motor between an energizable state, in which the permanent-magnet motor can receive electricity through the two terminals, and a brake state, in which the terminals are short-circuited. The switching device switches the permanent-magnet motor into the brake state when the vehicle door is in any position other than the fully closed position.
