Abstract:
The invention is embodied as a unit for grading produce and comprises a transporting device having parallel belts and receptacles which open downwardly and in which produce is arranged, and a weighing station comprising a weighing wheel driven in rotation by a gear motor and a section of which projects into the receptacles so as to carry the produce as it passes through the weighing station. The weighing wheel and the gear motor are supported by a device for weighing the produce. The unit also includes a grading station comprising several stations for ejecting the produce from the transporting device into a device for removing the produce as a function of the weight of the produce.
Abstract:
The machine comprises a continuous conveyor having rollers which are parallel to each other and equally spaced apart and define gaps therebetween. In each of the gaps there is disposed another roller which is parallel to and equally spaced from said rollers. This other roller is movable upwardly or downwardly and cooperates with independent and adjustable guides. The fruit is sorted out by using at least the upper reach of the conveyor in which the various rollers rotate in the desired direction and at suitable speed and in which the movable rollers are moved by guide means progressively away from the fixed rollers as the rollers advance toward the end of the upper reach of the conveyor. The lower reach of the conveyor is either guided in such manner as to avoid rotating the movable rollers and fixed rollers or guided so that the movable rollers are again progressively moved away from the fixed rollers as the latter and the movable rollers are rotated. The latter arrangement doubles the output of the machine.
Abstract:
The machine calibrates round, oblong or spherical objects and in particular fruit and vegetables. It comprises a series of spaced-apart rollers which define cavities for receiving the objects. In these cavities, the objects rotate and place their equatorial plane in a vertical position. Calibrating rollers, oriented in a longitudinal direction or slightly inclined relative to the axis of the conveyor and at heights from the latter which decrease in the direction of conveyance of the conveyor, discharge the objects and cause them to drop through a minimum height onto a discharging conveyor placed thereunder.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a treatment process for treating fruits and vegetables with one or more mono- and diglycerides of dietary fatty acids, that provides the means to obtain a homogeneous coating and thereby slow down the aging of the fruits and vegetables so treated.
Abstract:
A method of treating the atmosphere of a storage of vegetable products with a volume greater than 200 m3, wherein the method comprises at least one step of contacting the atmosphere with a liquid flow by circulation in a packing. A treatment unit of the atmosphere of a storage of vegetable products having a volume greater than 200 m3, wherein the unit comprises a contacting device comprising a packing, a device for injecting a liquid flow into the contacting device, a device for circulating the storage atmosphere in the contacting device, wherein the contacting device is so designed that the atmosphere is brought into contact with the liquid flow by circulation in the packing.
Abstract:
The device for generating electricity (1) comprises: a first heat pump (3) provided with a first closed circuit (15) in which a first heat-transfer fluid circulates, and with a first heat exchanger (17) between the first heat-transfer fluid and a flow of atmospheric air in which the flow of atmospheric air transfers a quantity of heat to the first heat-transfer fluid, at least a second heat pump (5), provided with a second closed circuit (23) in which a second heat-transfer fluid circulates, and with a second heat exchanger (25) between the second heat-transfer fluid and a third heat-transfer fluid in which the second heat-transfer fluid transfers a quantity of heat to the third heat-transfer fluid; means for transferring a quantity of heat from the first heat-transfer fluid to the second heat-transfer fluid; a third closed circuit (9), in which the third heat-transfer fluid circulates; a turbine (11) inserted on the third closed circuit (9) and driven by the third heat-transfer fluid; an electric generator (13), mechanically driven by the turbine (11).

Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for fungicidal and/or bactericidal treatment of plants or foodstuffs using one or more essential oil(s) that enable the treatment of strains resistant to synthetic fungicides and/or bactericides.
Abstract:
A process for the treatment of fruits or vegetables after harvesting by heating to a temperature of 40.degree. to 60.degree. C. a treatment composition including, in an aqueous vehicle, a terpenic compound, and then bringing the fruits or vegetables into contact with the composition at such temperature for a period of less than or equal to 10 minutes.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a composition for the treatment of fruits and vegetables by thermal fogging. The composition comprises from 2% to 25% by weight of at least one active protective and/or preserving substance, in solution or in dispersion in an aqueous medium containing a mixture of at least two emulsifiers having each an HLB value of 3 to 20, this mixture having an average HLB value of 8 to 15, and the active substance, when it is solid and does not give a true solution in said medium, being in the form of particles smaller than 1 micron.
